In the install directions the first picture shows what appears to be an allen wrench .. what is it actually showing you to do ??? Do you loosen a set screw and adjust bulb a certain way or what ? I have these on the way soon from the group buy and just curious
    Thanks !

Yes, it allows you to adjust the light so that the LEDs are sitting horizontally (left & right). I had to adjust a couple of them slightly.

I got mine today and that allen wrench and exactly what to do are lacking in the limited instructions provided. I understand it allows you to adjust the rotation, but it doesnt say what the correct position should be.

Hope to install by te end of next week as its a little warm here right now :):bananadead:

If it's like any other collar that has a free rotation setup then you need to use the bulb itself to determine what the correct position of it should be in relation to the stop tabs in the actual socket.

Check out post #129 on my thread for a pic of how they should be orientated:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toynado-quicksand-build.416160/page-7

It's a matter of putting it in and seeing if it needs to be rotated, and if so by how much and in which direction.

Yeah it'd be no fun under the hood in extreme heat. Go out at midnight. I did mine at night with a work light clamped in a elevated bike repair stand.

It was easy. They install just like any standard light. The only issue was figuring out where to mount the canbus.

Mine are in a similar spot. The passenger side the cables were barely long enough to mount in a flat spot. Have you gotten yours wet at all? That's my only concern is if the canbus gets wet.

No rain here since the instal. @LovelandTaco is there any concern about the canbus being exposed to water?

The kit is fully water proof as well, so no concerns at all with them getting water on them.

Installed the lows, highs and fogs on a Gen 3 limited but the auto on/off feature doesn't seem to function. My LEDs come on as soon as I start the truck even during daylight. Anyone having this issue or know what might be wrong? The LED's will turn off when switching the stalk to any setting beside "auto".

    Thanks.

Just want to make sure that you have your headlights actually on the Auto on mode and just not on the on switch. They shouldn't come on during the day as the LED DRL should be activated during the day.

I don't have this issue other than when I pull in or out of my garage. Could be an issue with the sensor in your passenger side speaker. That's where the daylight sensor is for your lights. Did you have this issue before installing them?

Thanks for the responses. After work yesterday, I was able to watch the lights closely and the problem is the lights won't turn off once in daylight after the sensor is triggered. The lights aren't always on as I previously stated. Sorry for the confusion. Starting up in my garage in the morning, driving through a parking garage or under an overpass will trigger the lights to come on (all seem normal). However, once I'm in daylight the lights stay on until I switch the stalk to any other setting beside "Auto".

LovelandTaco - The switch on the stalk is definitely on the "Auto" setting.

Bob529 - I haven't touched the sensitivity settings yet so will try this today.

Launch21v - Yup, parking in the garage triggers the sensor to turn the lights on in the morning. I don't think the sensor is the issue because the Nav changes from the night screen to day screen once in daylight. I didn't previously notice this issue before installing the LEDs.

I love these lights otherwise and find this a minor inconvenience if anything. Hopefully adjusting the sensitivity will be the fix. Compared the RSI's to my wife's factory HID on her Lexus and was really impressed.

Yeah I know that. This bike has a tiny battery pack- basically 4 aa's. It just doesn't have the storage capacity to run the lights when it's idling. I'm considering having a battery pack made that just a little bigger. I just don't have a lot of real estate available in the air box
