Should I buy this Tacoma?

Seller said he's only owned for one year and done regular maintenance with high end fluids etc.

Drives nice. Pretty stiff. Taking it to the Lexus dealership tomorrow so my buddy can throw it on a lift and check it out before I pull the trigger.

I'm not in a particular hurry to buy a truck but my budget is around 8k and this seems like a solid truck for a good price. What are your thoughts???

Turns out frame had been rewelded or at least worked on and the owner knew nothing about it. Along with an oil pump that was almost dead. I had to pass.

 

Good thing you had that mechanic look at it, always pays off. Probably had rust issues from being in another state (unlikely it would rust in San Diego). Definitely one thing to always be cautious of with these trucks.

On to the next one, one thing there is no shortage of in SoCal is used first gens. I bought mine in San Diego last March. 2004 4x4 5 speed with supercharger and 24,000 miles on the odometer. Held out for a long time to find a low mileage one but they are out there, I seem to see a lot under 100k miles in San Diego
