S/C plug change is harder than N/A plug change. Which can be done in about 30 minutes with the right tools. Which I have. Piece of cake.

I traded in my 13, and I'm waiting for delivery of my 16. This is why:
Last year, I was rear-ended. The truck has not acted the same since I got it back from the shop. My repairs came out to about $1000 below what it would have been the 'total it' amount.
I've had a lot of shaking when I accelerate, my rear suspension squeaks like crazy, and my windshield is spiderwebbed. I don't have the money to investigate the problems, then get them fixed, especially on a truck that is behind the value 8-ball because of the wreck.
Also, I have a hell of a time getting out of 4WD. I can't get the bastard to stop beeping, no matter how many times I roll back and forth.
I drive the shit out of my truck for work. It's 95% highway miles, but still, I drive the shit out of it. I need to keep it tip-top. This is my 5th Tacoma (96, 99, 11, 13, 16) and I am getting the best warranty and service plan that I've ever had this time around. Unlimited powertrain, 3 years unlimited miles free service, and they threw in gap insurance.
Without my truck, I can't do my job. My 2013 is beat to hell, and I need to replace it. If I'm opening Pandora's box, then so be it. I'm covered on the warranty.

Was searching the forum because the same thing happened to me this morning.
Started truck, check engine light came on and trac off light came on. Cruise control will not come on. Truck will not go over 40. And even slower going up a hill. (I'm in 2WD)
Truck sitting at the mechanics waiting for diagnosis.
So if I am understanding this post, the correct fix for this is a 2016 Tacoma?

Thats what I feared, this seems to be a common occurrence in the 2012s right around 70k miles or so.

It's interesting the 2.7 4-cyl had the air injection system since 2005 and we don't hear many problems with it. Wonder if Toyota switched suppliers when the V6 got it in 2012, or if the fault thresholds in the ECM programming had gotten tighter.

Someone else linked it in a 2.7 thread. Figured I would share it here.

This is what $937.00 looks like. My mechanic was gracious enough to save the little @#$%.
I think I will do some shooting therapy this weekend!!!
He did say that this was the first of it's kind he had seen. He said most Toyota's have 2. One on left bank and one on right bank.
Lucky for me mine was both sides in one assembly....$630 part and $307 labor.
Still cheaper than the 2016 fix.:)
