I have a Dewalt tool box in the bed. Keep everything tool wise in there, including an extension cord. Work's great. Fits nicely under tonneau cover.

Nice !! I just bought that one....ds 400 part of their tough boxes. Only issue is it can not be all the way to the front cause it wont open with factory tonneau. Did you set it in the middle ?

I don't have factory tonneau cover, but found that it won't open sitting against the front wall anyway. I have a couple load bars in the bed that are kept right at the front when I'm not using them, so just keep a tie down strap around the tool box and keep it about 6 inches from the wall. When I do have something in the bed is easy to move out of the way.

Could get a small retractable and mount it to the bed floor or side depending on how often you use it. Or you could go undercover swingcase?

I dont carry dirty or wet things in the cabin, so I try not to put tools in there. I use the extension cord all the time to vacuum the interior with my portable vac. I wanted to design something that I can mount the cord on the bed side. Something that wont take any space but can be easily taking out and used and looks clean.

very interested on what other people do

well in that case, I think your set up is probably the easiest, but maybe you could add this.
