XM Volume

Is it me or is my radio on my 2016 Tacoma not as loud when I use XM as it is when I use FM? If so does anybody know why. ( I searched XM volume before I posted) nothing came up.

 

I have noticed that also. Wish I could tell you why but I have no idea.

 

Just use the audio settings to get it to the same level. Adjust bass, treble, and mid up 3 clicks.

 

Because XM music is compressed. That why I would rather listen to CD's they sound so much better. That's just my opinion. But I still have XM in my truck.

 

I think the volume difference is just something they got wrong with the head unit design. The compression definitely affects the quality of the signal though. It's really obvious when you upgrade speakers and add an amp.
