Are there any mods that can be added or done to oem intake? Or just change out to an aftermarket one? For better flow, sound, power, mileage.

Aftermarket may have better flow and sound, but probably not better power and mileage. Stuff like this, and like exhaust, etc.. Is only really beneficial with a custom ECU tune.

But... You can do he deck plate mod which is basically cutting a hole in the oem air box, and you really should direct cool air from the front on the vehicle to that hole as to not be sucking up hot air. And also maybe a cover for splashes.
You can also remove he secondary air filter in the oem intake and buy a k&n drop in filter.

Or just buy a full CAI system, as you don't want just a short open intake that sucks up hot engine air and possibly water/debris

If doing the deck plate mod, but a large diameter threaded pvc pipe cap so you can close if off if need be.
could also maybe buy a volant CAI air scoop to direct cool air to the air box.
