When I mounted mine I had to pull my Pelfreybilt rear thinking it would have to get cut but with the bumper off I was able to align the mount properly and then the bumper mounted back up no problem.

hmmm...i'm short around 7/16" to 1/2" not sure if there's that much slop I can get from the bumper.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
You can't flip sides with the shackles? I am not sure of your pelfrey conflict but if you flip sides with the shackles it should push the mounting positions back far enough to accommodate the Dakars.

I tried flipping the sides and the fit is even worse. I'll try and wiggle the bumper to give me the space I need...if the angle is still bad, i'll have to cut a strip out of the vertical.

I'm pretty sure the flip kits are side specific because the ears are not welded 90*

I was at about the same and figured it would be safer to cut the excess from the bumper but ended up not needing to. Pull the bumper, install the shackles mounts where they belong then remount to bumper, your overlap should go away.

Yeah, mine was just a regular replacement bumper, no high clearance, no swingout, easy to do.

ended up having to machine off .450 from the vertical edge. I un-bolted my bumper and slide it as far rear as possible and it still wouldn't allow both to be bolted up...

not sure if its because of my swing-out or when it was manufactured as the designs are always under revision.

I'll post some pics later today to show before and after, it's possible that my combination of parts limited the fit which may not affect anyone else.

I'd recommend reading through this full thread, they are compatible but are not a simple bolt on mod. There is a lot of good info here and the answer to your question isn't a simple "yes, use shock P/N xyz"

I know the guy above me asked basically the same question, but I'm going to ask mine anyway.

I'm running Dakars with the add a leaf, I bought the BAMF shock relocation kit and plan to buy Fox 2.0 12" shocks with remote reservoirs. Shock specs are 31.1/19.1

If I added the shackle flip kit with stock size HD shackle will I gain anything? I already know I will since I read this entire thread, but one guy said no and that makes me unsure.
Most importantly, should I install the shackle flip kit before I mock up the BAMF shock kit? Since I'll be mocking the shock kit up with the truck sitting on the bump stops as recommended by JLee

i just don't want to have to redo anything to get a maximum gain, my shock option is open for debate too

Ok so I have been slowly gathering parts to do the shackle flip with standard Dakar leafs and stock length shackle. I'm kinda set on bilstein 5125s right now with a extended length of 29.38in and 17.89 collapsed. Would that give me a decent amount of flex without having to be severely limited by bump stops? Thanks in advance for any input!
