I just finally hit the point on my truck to catch up to the point of where your truck was at when it inspired me...

This photo is what made me always want this bumper and I think if I'm not mistaken you are still on 33's here even though you went to 35's after this, correct?

The paint is done, so I got the graphics started.

It's been far too humid to get the clear coat on so I've been working on preparing the chassis. While reassembling the engine, I noticed the chain guides were cracking. Ordered a new pair from LCE. Also ordered new valves and Viton seals. Why the F not?

Minus the paint, the headers and exhaust setup is complete.

I went with this Magnaflow. Not entirely sure what to expect since it's a lot smaller than my old one.

The graphics ended up being much more tedious than I anticipated. (Surprise.) I had to mask off everything to avoid the metallic particles in the paint from getting on the base coat. Lining everything up, working the curves with the tape by hand, and trying to make some semblance of consistency was a pain. Had to do all of that one stripe at a time. I couldn't find any specific color codes or whatever for redoing the retro stripes so I just picked 3 from color sample cards at Napa.

FINALLY got the clear coat on last night. Still have to sand/buff out the inconsistencies, but until I get another set of hands to help lift the cab back onto the frame, I'm working on the engine and applying the rest of the bed liner.

I'm glad I didn't. Saved 300 bucks by doing it myself. And knowing me, I probably would have found a way to F it up. :anonymous:

The tintable raptor liner is drying. 4 bottles is probably 'adequate' for a full-size bed but I think I need at least 2 more bottles before I'm happy with it. Engine is basically done. Brake lines and master cylinders are in. As is the headliner and new carpet. Not sure why, but the '81 cab is sitting 1/4" lower than the '80 bed. I'll probably shim it or something.
