Got it done today. I was only experiencing issues in CC, but with just a few miles the shifting feels smoother and more refined. Nothing dramatic, but then again it wasn't real bad to start with. We'll see how the next few hundred miles go - road trip next week.

I didn't notice any earthshaking differences but I enjoy driving my truck. If anything seems to be smoother power straight off from go.

Pulling the trailer this weekend 4000lbs up some serious hills so we will see.

Can't wait to take mine in, it's getting annoying. I am so glad there is a TSB now.. By the way guys make sure you don't have any oil leaks. Just got my truck back from the dealer because they where fixing an oil leak. My timing chain cover was leaking.

Nice you stay out in Pasadena, that's where my dad bought his truck. I told my.dad about the TSB. Doesn't have any issues yet but he will take it soon for service.

Got the truck back last night. So the funny part is right before i dropped it off, i definitely heard the squeaks from front and rear.
I asked to get the TSB done and take a look at the suspension. The guy looked at me like i'm a retard and "had a hard time visualizing" the CC upshift issue.

Got a call yesterday morning saying they checked everything, and it was all operating normal. Meaning they didn't do anything right? Got the paperwork, and yupp nothing done.

The best part - the truck no longer squeaks... Magiccccccccc

Don't go to Ourisman Toyota in Fairfax...

A humorous update: I brought the truck back in this morning with a copy of the TSB. Of course my rep from yesterday wasn't there and I had to go through the whole song and dance again. This time, after he went off to check on "parts" he told me they couldn't perform the TSB because they didn't have the computer in stock and would have to order it. I said are you seriously telling me you guys don't have a Techstream here? And he points at the "Computer, Engine Control" on the parts list and tells me they don't have that part. I was like you see where it says "Quantity" and there is just a dash? That means you don't need one. This is just a software update.

These guys are going to screw up my truck, I can't believe I left it there anyway.

Started to notice a "few" shifting issues, call my dealers service department "Premier Totota of Amherst", I was told what I was telling them was "not" uncommon, he's heard this from others and he wants me to bring it in for the TSB.
Appointment is set for the 8/9 9am. Took his time to answer all my questions even though he probably wanted to ring my neck.
And just for the record, I still really enjoy driving my Tacoma!

Damn, that must be a really busy/small dealer. I got an appointment the same day, it was wide open. Granted, they didn't do anything.

I drive a truck for a living, so they gave me a date I'm comfortable with. He asked if I want a sooner date but the 9th was it for me.

Just had the Update installed and I can feel the improvement on the highway the most, it holds the lower gear longer on grades and doesn't shift back and forth as much. The update is an improvement but don't expect to much.

Popped the cherry for this TSB at Toyota Carlsbad this morning. First they heard of it and made sure I brought in a copy of the TSB. It's probably you're best bet for those who brought it in to dealerships that were clueless.

Toyota Town in Stockton did mine yesterday. I took the truck in at lunch without an appointment and they called me a couple hours later letting me know it was done. Did a couple of errands around town and drove up to Sacramento. It's like a whole new truck. shifts are buttery smooth and its not hunting for gears anymore. this morning the R-F delay was non-existent.
