    Hey everyone,
I just bought a 96' Tacoma 2wd V6 with 140,000 miles on it. I'm very pleased with the truck but its so low and I worry about clearance. It's gonna be needing tires soon so I'm looking at getting the 16' Sr5 rims and slapping some good all terrains on.

I've been scouring the forums here and done lots of research but I'm still unsure if the rims would fit the bolt pattern. People say that they fit 1st gen's but then I look at the bolt patterns and they are different. I'm not extremely educated in this area so any help would be appreciated! :)

sorry to say, but your truck is a 5 lugger. The rims you mentioned are 6 lugs.

BTW welcome to the site, nice truck.

It's a good looking truck the way it sits now. Check out the 5 lug forum, I bet someone there can get you pointed in the right direction if you need more clearance.

when I had my 5 lug i was looking at finding a cheap set of camry 5 lug mag rims, from what i could find out, they "should" fit (depending on if they have the right caliper and backspacing of course) but only by trying them on the truck would you know for sure

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I'm sure there's 5 lug 2016's you can snag a set of wheels off of easy enough. Pretty sure the SR5 trim is available there was well.

They don't make the 3rd gen with 5 lug hubs as far as I know. I have a 2016 Tacoma sr5 with the v6.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I stopped a guy at a traffic light the other day. Had a good looking lowered(just a bit) Tacoma. I didn't recognize his rims and had to ask. Nissan Pathfinder rims.

It being 5 lug I think you have more and better options. Looking for 6 lug wheels that actually look nice and do not stick out like roller skates is limited for 6 lugs.

There's tons of options for them though. Same exact pattern is used on Chevy half tons so you have several to choose from. There's some pretty sweet, low key 6 lug wheels out there I've seen running around. Never got close enough to them to actually find out what they were and who made them though. I myself would like to put some 2nd gen wheels or TRD wheels on mine, the stock Toyota steelies are pretty boring and not to mention HEAVY! My lord, they rival the weight of my 3/4 ton diesel's tires and wheels. Thinking I could pick up a few MPG with something lighter like alloys.
