Has anybody installed a Hydraulic e brake on their 1st gen? If so what set up do you have and how do you like it?

Not looking for anything super amazing just a functional brake with no problems really.

I have biondo electric line lock. It's okay but I would never trust it overnight

Would way rather have stock e brake

Thanks for fast reply. Thinking ill likely go.with a manual hand style brake over an elwctric line lock but I am also just starting to pick this idea apart as I prep for some brake upgrades.

What do you need the brake for? It is not reiable and it will bleed off over time.

Any ideas for mine? The backing plates need for the stock e-brake were almost $500 each. So I have no e-brake but am an auto tranny.

The thing with any of the hydraulic type of brake any brake line failure results in no Emergency brake.

If you have a safety inspection it might not pass

    t case parking brake.

This is an old Ballistic Fab kit they don't make anymore.

I did some work to it, it works ok for what it is but the go cart caliper is shit. I am on the hunt for another caliper that has return springs. It rattles a good amount when the pads wear a little.

Finding some really funky issues with the Ebrake sticking and also engaging when i take corners (particularly when i make a right and gas it hard to get into traffic which is a real issue). Also had at one point noted cable being too short at full droop but ita been so long since i actually ran the truck I just havnt worried about it.

I am an Auto tranny so itll stay in place without the brake but really would like to have something instead of just doing that once I remove the cable. Understand it will likely bleed over time but i just want something better than having nothing and am happy to block the wheels if its sitting for more than just shifts at work or whatever.

Its been a long time coming, think my rear suspension been done 5 years now and I just had so much life change that I havnt gottwn to run truck or put any effort into it but thats starting to finaly change some.

Just buy new e brake hardware. Shouldn't have any issues with the stock e brake at droop

Ill have to jack it all up again and look since its been so long but maybe its because im a 5 lug that it was pulling tight. I know I am not the one one to experience this as I recall chatting about it at the first Superstition meet and have aeen it mentioned over the years as well.

Regardless thanks for response. Going to continue to weigh options as I get ready to do some work and maintenance.

    Yeah
Yeah axle swap has long been on list but i put so much into regearing and locking my little 7.5" rear that i cant justify doing that yet. Especially since a supercharger seema like such a better use of money for what the truck is seeing regularly.....

I want a legit Ken Block style hydro e-brake - would make for a lot easier tight turns on dirt/gravel roads.

I mean that obviously crossed my mind too when I brought up the subject. Just seems like a good idea right?
