When you order a Tacoma, in regards to price, how much are you at the mercy of the salesperson? By that, I mean, when a truck is on a lot, obviously they want to sell you that truck. But when you are ordering, you pick out and customize. I guess I will answer my own question a bit--probably depends on the dealer. seems like some dealers more routinely post prices that are about 1K below MSRP. whereas others only post MSRP. But I was looking for real world experience. This thread is very helpful, so that I know just what the invoice cost is, and that the difference is their profit. Obviously, I am ok with them making some profit, just not every last dollar... Thanks

as long as you have a refundable deposit with no caveats, you can decide on price in writing before or after it arrives.

just remember, refund with no caveats means you can walk away if the numbers don't work.

Hey Everyone, been lurking for a while, but I'm looking to buy a Tacoma soon. There is a wealth of information here, and I look forward to becoming part of the community.

    I have a price on a (7450) ( black) SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO for 31,900

Installed options per the dealer email are.
    Entune Audio Plus
    V6 Tow Package
    SR5 Package
    All Weather Mats
    Clear Paint Protection-Door Package

From looking at the master list at the beginning of this post
Dealer invoice plus options looks to come out to 31,089

Am I close on this? What do you think of the 31,900 price? Is there room to negotiate?

    Thanks!

Does the Costco program work if I plan on leasing? Or is it only for buying?

A second dealer has given me a price on a 7570 SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO LB
    for 30,800.
    All weather mats
    Paint protection film
Phone charger??? (Is this the wireless charging)

    Any thoughts on this price?
I haven't tried negotiating with either dealer yet, but i feel like there is room to come down. Both of these where just internet quotes.

    Thanks in advance.

The phone charger is the cig lighter plugin and 2 cables, 1 being a lightning and one being a basic android cable.

    7570 - SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO LB................. $ 29571 | $ 31920
    C9 - Four Season Floor Mat Package (CF & 2T in one).. $ 224 | $ 348
    3P - Paint Protection Film........................... $ 219 | $ 395

equals 30,014, seems like a decent offer. The phone charger thing assuming its what I am talking about shows ~100 on the toyota website when building. That puts you at 30,114 so he is getting 686 above invoice from what I can tell.

just remember the phone charger option is unique to GST/SET and not part of Toyota oem options.

Thanks for the info that is what I was thinking it seems to be right at invoice. I may try to talk them down a bit they sounded like they where willing to make a deal on it.

Any advice on negotiating with them? Id really like to be right at 30k + tt in Ga. Thinking I may counter their initial offer of 30,800 with like 29,700 and see what they say.

have them drop the phone charger option or give it for free. its literally just cables for $100.

I definitely do not need a $100 phone charger cable haha, thanks for the heads up on that. I thought it may have been the wireless charging which I don't need either.

Going to be heading to Rodland Toyota in Everett, WA next week to order my 2017 DCSB OR with TO and FP. They stated they'll over $500 over invoice by my math that's about $35,362 based on 2016 prices. Add an additional $300-400 for 2017 prices makes it $35,762 + TT&L. I honestly don't know if that's a good price or not for these trucks. Last car I bought was about $1k below invoice and my dad argued it down for me (2012 Subaru I bought new). Advise would be appreciated as I've never bought a car on my own before!

Just picked up my 2016 DCLB SR5 4x4.

I payed 31,400 before taxes etc. Give or take a few hundred.

I payed a bit more than I wanted to, but I got the exact truck I wanted and only had a 25 minute drive to pick it up. The other dealer that had the same truck at 30,859, actually never had it on the lot and would have had to order it, with a 30 day wait min. Plus they where a good 3.5 hour drive away.

So over all I'm happy with how it all worked out. Fairly quick process with the dealer in and out in under a hour.

    Tow package
And carpet floor mats, I'm not sure which option that is if it's an option at all. I was never quite sure the diffrence in all the floor matt options.

I have a Black SR5 4 dr TSS 4x4 i love the look and added the paint protection and the 3 piece bed cover. I put Tac seat covers on it and the rubber mats as well. I want the 12v kit and shocks and leveling kit. With the off road tires its good when i put it in the mud.. I will track of all the issues i have had. If i list the VIN does it show all the times its been in the shop for replacement issues the real big one is the third member. If i sell this truck i dont want someone to pick it apart because of the issues i have had with it. any feedback?
