I agree!!! A big portion of what I do is based off of "damage" or permanent changes I make.
I'm looking at snorkels once they are available but not sure if I'll have the guts to stick a drill into my fender! I'm confident I could do the install but not sure I could drill into the A post with out LOC lol

    SSO slimline bumper ordered.:yay:

It might be Fall before I get to an install but can't pass up that price! I'm a sucker for saving $$$$$
I got with hoop only. Rigid is a little too rich for my blood so I'm going to mount a @CaliRaised bar under the hoop.

I wasn't planning in doing this right away but ill store it in the garage for a month or two to take advantage of the nice discounts with the group buy happening right now.

Got the tuffy locking bed box installed. The ARB CKMA12 has more room and feels more sturdy mounted to a metal box over the factory fiberglass box. The extra room allows for an airline as well as a tool roll.

It was a major PIA getting the bolts through the bottom mount of the compressor. I had to feed some fly leader through the hole then tie a nail knot around the tip of the bolt and carefully pull it into position.

Great build write up on everything! I am so torn on whether I want a full size (Sierra/Silverado) or 3rd Gen Taco for my next truck. This build (and that sexy SSO bumper) just tipped the scales back in the direction of the Taco. 90% of the time I'm happy with my truck, but every once-in-a-while I wish I had just a little more towing capacity and cab space... Your towing set up looks like it would meet my needs though.

I'd love to have a Powerstroke, a tube chasis buggy for wheeling and a big old triple axle gooseneck travel trailor but that's just not gonna happen at the moment. Our taco and travel trailor cost less combined than a new powerstroke. It'd be nice to have a little more power for towing but no full size pickups (or most jeeps) can touch this Tacos offroad capability.

Can't argue with that. My other toy is a muscle car (1966 Chevy II), and it would be nice to have a vehicle capable of towing it when needed. I think the Taco would struggle. So, that's my dilemma... I love the offroad capability of the Taco, but I think it's almost time to have a truck as a more functional/usable/daily driver and less of a toy... Hate to say that. Makes me feel old. Either way... sorry for the temporary thread-jack. Great looking truck (and camper) you have!

No problem, in there third gen towing thread there is a member that used his taco to tow his antique car all over the nation. I'm not sure what type of car/weight but it might be worth PMing them. Good luck with your new ride what ever it is.

Not a big deal but added a masterlock locking hitch pin. A little paranoid somebody might jack the WDH while out on the road.

Keep that thing well lubed!!!!! Mine rusted on my old Titan and couldn't get it off cause of that didn't think stainless steel would have a issue and it didn't but the inside of lock did big time lol, i got a lock for trailer also so no one can hook to it and just tow away when they want to also for the generator..

We picked up one of those tounge protectors as well. I believe its a gorilla lock. How are you locking your generator? I just picked up a u-lock and a heavy cable and have been locking around the bumper. Thanks for tip! I did take it off untill I need to use it. That lock is going to pick up a ton of moisture and dirt!
P.S. hope the bum foot is doing better.

The foot is doing better,d doctor said I twisted ankle and bruised it pretty good.

I just got a cable lock and then double looped it the same way around the rear bumper... Thinking of making a loop on the frame to lock up to, kind of like the ones on our hitches...

I installed some Redline Tuning hood struts. I can't say that I would have bought these myself but I got them for a B day gift a few weeks ago. Now that they're on I don't know how I lived without theme lol.
I had to run down to HF to pick up a rivoter but other than that easy 1 hrs install at most.
    Thanks Justin!!!

Added a battery quick disconnect to the travel trailer. Cheap part and very simple install. You can see it has 2 pieces of metal isolated by a piece of plastic. When the knob is screwed in it makes contact between the two pieces.

So apparently the fastway flipjack did get delivered, the UPS guy just apparently thought he was hiding an Easter egg and didn't ring the door bell lol.

So anyways I threw it on real quick and took a few pics. It was a very quick and easy install.

So you can see fron the pics the tounge height when level is about 24 inches on the baja edition. That equates to a whole lot of cranking and necessitates some kind of stand or wood blocks to even get it hitched to my truck which is lifted about 2.75 inches and on stock tires.

The Fastway flip-jack adds six inches to the jack (wich means I no longer need to bring blocks of wood) and has an ingenious design that folds itself up mechanically which alleviates about 6 inches of jacking. As the flip-jack is brought up the rounded top of the flip-jack glides against a circular spacer and allows it to rotate upwards due to the slotted design in the flip-jack. I've added a couple pics of it stowed and rotating.

The flip-jack even has a built in template for drilling pilot holes in your jack. This can be seen in the second pic.

The second to last pic shows an approved method for short jacking if you are parked on uneven terrain (this does require a wood block).

I'll have to take a couple trips before I can review it but I'm pleased so far:cheers:

You always find the most helpful gadgets.
Do these close well after being open for a long time? I have had hatchback versions that feel dry if open too long?

They work great but they are also brand new. They do come with a 5 year warranty and per the instructions the piston is supposed to be above the shaft too keep everything well lubricated.
