Hey there inter webs. I am looking to put a light bar above the windshield any suggestions on what size light bar and brand of brackets I should use. Thanks. ( and yes the bumper is photoshopped in because I am currently deployed and can't install it)

i found that rubber windstoppers don't work. i was able to stop wind noise completely by wrapping the boarder in black vinyl or you can use electrical tape. on a side note, i was also able to stop the vibration using Bondo spreaders placing them between the windshield and inserting in the 3rd row of the light bar. It creates a center mounting support. i plasti-diped them black so they match.

None - yet... That's why I'm joining this fourm
Where could I find an install guide or video. I have never added a light bar to any vehicle, but I really want one on my 2016 Off Road.

    Thanks

id be interested in seeing pictures of this set up... I've tried a few methods and some have toned the wind noise and vibrations down but not to the point where im happy... I've been border line on caulking or silicone the whole damn fin set!

i purchased three sets of these bond spreader. i found that my light bar need a center mount support. the vibrations was just too much and i had already invested so much in to this process with using the rago mounts. one spreader could support but i thought why not make sure so i used 3 all together. after two weeks i learned that they can fly off at 85mph. so what i did was drilled some center holes for wind to pass through the middle. the plasti dip also helps the spreader from moving around because of texture. and also wrapping the light helped a lot with the whistling. there is no whistle at all. message me if you have any questions. @Danactive

thanks for the pics! i'll have to figure something out similar to making a diffuser like that... im also wondering if I were to cover all the fins on the back with vinyl or hi grade tape like gorilla tape to cover all the vents if that would resolve the issue as well?!

The whistle come from the little screws in the front. Try covering it with tape first...

what about the vibrations around 45-55mph? the whistle is very minimal but that vibration of the sunglass holder is killer

Spreaders kill the vibration. None what so ever

curved 40" Zroadz bar, brackets. Brackets route harnessthrough the mount, no drilling. They also have a diffusor on the light bar that kills noise. couple light bar guys have commented how quiet mine is

vibrations is cause by a few different factors that I've learned:

    1. light bar is too short. the rago fab says 50" light bar needed. actually size need is 51.5-52. space are needed if you bought a true 50"
    2. make sure if you are using spacers, use rubber spacers. this will also muffle some sound but not much.
    3. the fins in the back. i wasted money on those diffusers and found the worthless. they also have a tendency to fly off and high speed on the highway. wrapping might help but not sure. i saw a video where a guy created a cover for the back using florescent light cover. he says it works...
    4. one main flaw is there are no center supports for the light bar. there is too much weight to carry in the middle. I'm not sure why this is such a issue.

im not saying what i did was the best so far. I just don't have any issues anymore. i couldn't take it. i was about to get rid of all this shit and be pissed i drilled some holes in my new truck...
