Left the dealer about an hour ago, immediately noticed the Delay from N to D and harsh 1 to 2 was gone.

Drove it home on cruise and noticed no shifting issues or hanging/flip flopping there.

I didn't get a sweet TSB sticker under my hood tho :/

Sticker or not does it seem to drive differently? It was pretty evident from mine almost right from the start.

Truck no longer needs to drop a gear when I want to accelerate to pass someone on the highway. Transmission is still learning so I'm keeping it in D with no move to S mode or ECT button.

Read the TSB and it will tell you where it should be posted and how it should be filled out.

Also, there may be a shortage of stickers at some dealerships since the TSB was only released two weeks ago.

As for your rear brakes locking up at low speeds, not likely a transmission issue, more like a differential or rear brake bias issue so have it back to the dealer to recreate, that's what the warranty is for.

With regards to shocks it depends on what you're trying to improve whether it be onroad, offroad or just a better ride for both, tire choice also makes a big difference. Decide how do you plan to use the truck the most then select your components only in a way to improve shortcomings.

Anyone can throw money at aftermarket parts but it may not make the ride better in how you use the truck.

I like the ride the OEM Bilstein shocks of my OffRoad but many are changing them out to aftermarket. I also have a set of Bilstein 5100s in the garage I'm waiting to install but I haven't been in a big hurry to change them out. I had them on my 1st gen and liked them quite a bit, but the 3rd gen rides nice right out of the box.

So the Bilstein is what is what i was looking for and from my past experience they well give me a better ride.. the 5100 dont show to work on a 2016. i can try just the rear for now. The truck has 7600 miles on it and all highway Texas to AR and Louisiana. No off road as of yet. and i have towed my new trailer with a new ATV on it and no problems except the listed problems everyone else has had.. Thanks for all the feedback yall

The 5100's for the 2nd gen will fit the 3rd gen front and back, many have installed them.

So just got the TSB done (no sticker installed). This is the work sheet. From reading this I don't see any TSB number or the new patch code. After saying that I drove it about 20 miles on the highway. Shifting seems smoother as well as speeding up to pass people going 75mph.

My worry is that it's in my head because of hardly no info on the work order about the new update.

    Am I just being paranoid?

Got the update today and also asked that the u-joints be greased. Service advisor tried to tell me there are no zerks and the u-joints are not serviceable. I politely disagreed, The repair order states in addition to TSB 0077-16 (op code TC1601) performed, the u-joints were greased. The service advisor was "unavailable" when I picked up the truck. Maybe hiding out so he wouldn't have to explain how the tech greased the u-joints that "don't have zerk fittings".

Anyway there is a noticeable difference for the better! The transmission shifts as I expect it to now. I also don't have the vibration when coming to a stop.

My wife also noticed the difference, and I had not talked with her about this in advance. We made a 400 mile road trip recently over mountain passes from 400 to 4,000 feet+ and she said today that the truck seemed to be a lot smoother, before it seemed "jerky" like it couldn't find the right gear. Just goes to show you the problem was apparent to her with no advance notice of the situation.

BTW, the dealer did not put a sticker indicating the TSB update under the hood.

Had mine done Friday and all those little issues appear to be gone. Raised the hood to look for sticker and ... no sticker. Went back to the Asst Service Manager and mentioned it. He said he doesnt think they have them. He made a couple calls, located a sticker and filled it out and stuck it to the door jam. I mentioned that the TSB shows it on the hood. Pulled it off, started over and put it on the hood. Getting the sticker almost took as much time as performing the upload! If you dont have a sticker then it's just laziness on their part.

And we wonder why we're having issues from top to bottom with Toyota.... It starts with manufacturing and ends with the boots on the ground guys not giving two shits.

Glad to see you were here. Informing people Toyota is real slack because they didn't get their sticker. I didn't get my sticker either when I had the TSB done. Maybe I should go back to dealership and raise hell about my sticker. I am sure my truck would run better with the sticker attached.
