You don't need 4x4 you just need a bigger penis.

Yay! lets start bashing "soft" small penises and tell people who don't need big penises what to do. I love these threads

If I didn't live in a place with 7-month long winters and icy roads more days than not, I would totally go 2wd. Better ride, better mileage.

But you just can't beat 4wd on icy roads. It helps so much. Pretty every pickup up here in Montana is 4wd, I'd say 90% of them.

Why did you have to get 4wd? Why do you like it so much?

I've been battling this same urge to get 4wd. I just recently purchased my new to me first truck and it's a prerunner. As much as I debate in my head about trading it in, I remind myself that I live in SoCal so rarely see mud. I've been on a few fire roads and the prerunner did great. So for now, today, I'm fine with the prerunner. Eventually in about five years I may get a 4wd and be happy. For now, my bank acct is happy. My k02s have been keeping my hope alive on the trails LOL. CONGRATS on the truck truck!

For those with the prerunner. You'd be pleasantly surprised what 15psi in the tires will do offroad.

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side :). I think the pre-runner is a way cool truck.

I think it is great to have choices. I don't bash others and buy what suits me.

I'm in Northeast Georgia, and we don't get near the snow as Montana, but we usually get one good snow a year and it's really hilly where I live. The past few years I've had to drive in the snow to my work 30 minutes away, which was fine cause roads were scraped and salted, but I want to be okay to get home if they're not. Other than that, I figure I might get some use out of it hunting.

I was thinking yesterday, I do use my 4wd in the summer when I'm in the backcountry on rough roads going up grades. Saves the back wheels from slipping when go over bumps and washouts. It's easier on the tires to have it in 4wd going over the rough stuff.

Glad you got a good deal on your trade, op

You never lose a dime getting 4 wheel drive, your truck will always be worth the extra cash you pay up front. Your truck holds it's value better as well, no brainer for me.

Went from a 2002 4x4 Tacoma to a 2015 Tacoma Prerunner. Only used 4x4 on icy days during the winter. Drove two winters with weight in the bed and no 4x4 with no issues.
