Yikes. Well I'm sorry you've had such bad luck in that regard. That sucks.

I think the odds can be high depending on where you live. When I bought my truck the dealership gave me the cleats in a bag and told me I should keep them inside the truck when not being used because they get stolen off their trucks from the lot all the time.

I got my tire valve caps stolen the other day. Not a big deal, but just makes me wonder who the hell steals tire valve caps?

I can definitely see where OP is coming from.

Thanks. I live in a good area, but not too far away is some shitty section 8 housing where those bastards LOVE to come into our neighborhood and steal anything they can. They steal anything they can get their hands on. I've got some stories about the weird shit that's been stolen from my neighborhood.

Just got these locking steel doors from Mobtown and put them on my truck. No more casual thieves rooting through the bed bins...

If you are worried about them getting stolen couldn't you just keep them in the locked cab until you need to use them?

Not worried about them getting stolen. It's just annoying having to buy more of them.

I really don't have any space in my cab to store 6 of them other than just leaving them on the floor. Glove box is full, center box storage is full, no cubbies behind the seats (stereo equipment) and under the seats are full as well (Stereo equipment/tools). I don't want to just leave them sitting on the floors.

It's amazing how opportunistic thieves are. I have, on numerous occasions, driven around with stuff in th ebed
    Seatback map pockets?

Wet Okle Set covers I got don't have the pockets so I can't use them. I totally forgot they existed it's been so long since I've used them.

That's about the only thing I could do though the storage wasn't full already.

That's why I just don't care. If it happens it happens.

No offense but is it really that hard to only use them when needed and store otherwise?

No, it's really not that hard. That is what I do now, even as recently as this afternoon.

It would just be nice to leave them in the rail and feel confident that I'm not going to be bummed someday if some jackass stole them.

That is why I asked about security options.

The locking gas cap isn't exactly a foil hat item when someone has put sugar in your gas tank...
That said, I don't put stuff in the bed often so my cleats just stay under the back seats until I need 'em.

I had a nice set of chrome ones on my STI that said Nitrogen that were stolen from a parking lot. I can only assume it was punk kids on bikes who wanted them for their bike tires.

The tie downs have holes in them on the very edges (KB Voodoo uses those holes for his bar mounting, I believe). Space the tie downs as far apart on the rail as you'll ever use them and use some bailing wire and/or braided steel wire for bicycle brakes and run through those holes and through the small holes in the rail system and twist it tight. It's not fool proof, but it will at least keep honest people honest and force the dishonest people to work just a little bit harder to get them...hopefully hard enough to make it a PITA for people to get them out.
