    Workin at a rock climbing gym (teaching the figure 8 follow through over and over and over and over and over....) and at a company that takes people climbing outside on some awesome private property (real cliffs!) and runs a ropes course! Right now really just the gym because it's too hot for any sane person to want to climb outside in phoenix.

    You need to do rappelling. I won't climb cliffs, but I enjoyed rappelling whenever I got the chance in the army.

    Thats totally normal, run into it a lot actually.

    This^^ doesn't have to be some monster overhanging cliff. Something with a ~80° angle and maybe 30ft tall would be a good start.

    Rappelling really isn't anything like in the movies. (Unless you set up specifically to do it like that which is really fun.)
