What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Decided to actually coat my new wheels so I chemically the factory finish off. Took about an hour and fifteen to strip all 5 wheels and rinse them. Tomorrow blasting them with some other parts, then ready for a one off two tone finish. Should have tired mounted and on the truck middle of next week.

I was a little surprised how poor the factory finish on these wheels were. It came off so easily, big change from the Euro wheels I normally do. Which take about 8-10 minutes extra per wheel.

 

Oh it can't be that exciting! Enough interest and I will sneaky peak the colors or give you guys at least and idea of how the colors will be laid out. Two tone wheels are cake. These just happen to be a little extra work. 4 stages total. 2 coats for the main color, 1 for the accent, and a clear.

 

Santa visited me several times this week, and he wears brown by the way, not red.

Mine did too, 53,000 miles. Started up in morning to go home from work then sat for a cpl hours and was dead in driveway!!!!! Electrical system test was good, battery bout 5 1/2 years old. Put an Interstate battery in.

 

Same here, it was before I went to work. Luckily I was parked on a slope and have a manual trans.

 

Seriously!!!!! You can pop the clutch and start it old school way???? I wouldve thought they would have safety's built in for that.

Aloha Moose! Bro...in the pic they are just laying on the rack... I had just opened the box and placed them up there for a pic and to get an idea for fitment. I only got one mounting plate which is the end that has the large handles sticking up. I can bolt them through the slots on the Frontrunner rack with a little ingenuity I think. I'm either gonna have to get another mount bracket or come up with another solution to mount the other end to the rack or just forgo the mount kit all together and just devise a method to attach them. I'll ponder the situation this weekend and come up with something...
