You should go man, he wanted me to send a picture of a 3.5 ECU but if you talk to him I'm sure he'd let you drop by for R&D or maybe even a tune.

The 2GR is not the best one for naturally aspirated tuning. You should buy MWR pistons fitted to 12 compression ratio with a MWR performance camshafts (duration of 256/256 deg, lift of 10.7/10.7 mm) and cold air intake. You should also do port and polish, purchase a 3-1 headers, performance exhaust system, and set the ECU.
It will help to achieve over 320 horsepower.

    all tore up already
you almost sounded knowledgeable until you mention 3 into 1 headers... that requires new heads on the v6 since the "manifolds" are integrated in the heads and comes out in 1 pipe

edit: had to look into the other parts... i pulled this off the camshaft page

"The most significant gains are in the 6500+ RPM range so they are of most benefit to those with aftermarket engine management, able to rev to 7000+ RPM"

    sounds ideal for a truck...

I was looking at his tunes for other cars and they are about 800 bucks. I cant imagine how much a custom tune will cost. I have the 2.7L, ive been mainly interested in what potential there is with 93 octane since it currently takes regular.

There's lots of supercharged FR-S/BRZ's with high compression D4S. The real trick is waiting. #1 for the product. #2 for the quality of the product to be acceptable.

The first 100 people on this board that install a supercharger are going to have rolling headaches. I assure you. Just like the first to supercharge the FA20DIT.

I feel like regearing the final drive would yield the best results.

That isn't a 2016 Tacoma. Wiper cowl is different, grill mounting point is different, hood lines on the fender are different. Also, washer squirters are in a different location.

If its whining its just as bad as if it wee banging and grinding in the long run. I'm leaning in the direction of incorrect preload or backlash on the pinion bearing and the whine is most likely coming from the pinion/ring gear mating.

Doesn't actually matter what vehicle it is one thing with 99% ceranty is that it's a 4.0. Look at the oil filler neck, the 4.0 stuck out to the side the new motor turns more to the front of the truck if I'm not mistaken.

Toyota has discontinued all supercharger development, you will not see a TRD product that will increase horsepower. Aftermarket will come, but the programming will be the biggest challenge.

Also that is a Dual VVTI 1GR, the oil filter is below which is why it's confusing to Tacoma guys.

It's not a V8 supercharged because they make a fuck ton more power than 345hp haha. Everyone needs to drive a supercharged Tundra just to see how much fun they are.
