Kids have a way of making your hair turn white, I have a full head of it so guess I shouldn't complain. I can now split my life into 3 equal parts- before Navy, Navy and after Navy. Up until a few years ago seldom ever got the hurts but last couple of years as I am getting much closer to 60 that has changed. Just getting out of bed some mornings the burning question of the day becomes which is better for pain relief, ibuprofen or acetaminophen? :pout:

In the words of a good friend, "kids are the most highly evolved parasite on the earth". I cannot argue with him.

And I'm a proud member of Team Ibuprofen!

Do you need to know, or care?
I'd rather have a 9 year old around than the 21 and 25 year old who decided to move back home. These kids are lazy nowadays! First thing they do when you walk in the door after work is say "What's for dinner?", no "Hi" or "How was your day?"...just feed me!

That's a terrible situation to be in... for both of you!

Same here. I'm 51 and we have a 5 year old. And babies have a nasty habit of turning into teenagers. We have three grown kids so we know those days do pass.

Since everyone is posting, I guess I'll throw mine back up here again. I still haven't put my Land Cruiser emblem on the grill yet. Still debating painting it or leaving it white.

Roger that. At 51 I was doing a marathon, triathlons and mountain biking. 9 years later not so much. Stuff just wears out unfortunately. And the crashes and broken bones along the way did not help ;).

I'm going to be 55 in 3 months but my body feels like a 75 year old . I've had numerous surgeries (10) over the last 12 years mostly Ortho related . Two rotator cuff repairs on my right shoulder in less than 1.5 years both full circumference tears

Also same shoulder I tore the Brachial plexus nerve resulting in two more surgeries one to remove the upper rib to relieve pressure on that nerve . The other surgery on the Brachial plexus didn't turn out well . The Surgeon accidentally severed the Prenic nerve while trying to remove scar tissue . This nerve controls the right side of my diaphragm . The resulting injury to that nerve caused paralysis of the right side of my diaphragm . That nerve took over a year to regenerate and to this day still have shortness of breath and having to use a specialized inhaler

Two years later I injured my ulnar nerve in my r/elbow and had to have surgery to reposition the nerve . The last couple of surgeries done at the VA for a service connected injury to my knee and involved having a knee replacement . That took two additional surgeries as the prosthetic knee failed and had to be repaired along with scar tissue removal

Now you're wondering what I did to get all these injuries / surgeries ?? . Well I was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic . I really feel all these injuries/ surgeries during the winter months . When it gets down to 30° I literally lock up and can't barely move

I take all kinds of pain meds including prescription pain meds to control the pain

Right leg burning from knee down for last month. Get this ,starts at 7 pm until I get up at 4 and goes away at 5. Haven't had a good night's sleep in a month.
Saw Ortho Doc on Monday. He said, Son, your L4 and L5 are loaded with arthritis, pinching the wire harness. Yep, pinched sciatic going on. What a treat.
Taking some go-go pills now that ain't doing a thing and excersises that are stretching the hamstring.
I'll see him again in a couple weeks.
This getting old shit ain't for lightweights.
