I have the basic entune, no nav, just the nav app which I don’t even use as I find google map on my iphone to be the best for me.
Moreover, I don’t see the virtue of a factory nav, if you have a smart phone device, as you get turn by turn directions over the vehicle speakers.

Entune works without any issues for me, I like it, and don’t plan on replacing it.

The only downside I do see is that even though it’s adequate, it can use a little more power boost, so I see myself adding a low power amp and I’m looking at the Alpine KTP-445U and may add a small Alpine sub as companion.

    Cheers!

Now that ive figured out how to use the Entune app with my head unit, I really like it. It sounds dumb but I check the weather on the radio everyday... and here in Illinois where the weather has been sketchy recently I check the storm clouds often.

The HD radio is new for me... I don't find that to be a plus or a negative.

If this head unit was aftermarket it would $1000.00 +

I have Premium w/ JBL. The basics of Entune seem okay, but the whole thing is buggy as hell. Early on (I've had the truck less than a month) the problems I've had are it won't read texts if I have names/numbers in the quick connects, I can't sort music on a thumb drive by folder, and the system support large USB thumb drives but only accepts drives formatted in FAT32 (needs to accept EXFAT).

I understand that car companies would rather have their own software on the vehicle, but I really wish they had gone with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

The nav works good enough for me. I get much better search results using the Destination Search app rather than POI search that is built into the Nav. POI never can seem to find anything. The voice recognition could be better. I use mobile phone assistant for voice calling and that also allows you to voice text with an iPhone. ( If you don't know how to use this, you hold the phone answer button on the steering wheel. ) I have had no problems with the Bluetooth and my iPhone 6. I use HD Radio all the time along with the weather map. Overall I like it better than the Sony I put in Subaru.

The weird thing about the voice recognition is that you have to be in the right portion App for it to understand the voice command. For example, if you are listening to the radio and say "navigate to McDonalds", she cant figure it out. But if you enter the Nav screen and say the command, no problem.

Seems like it should be able to figure out the command no matter where you are in the menu. Siri can do it........

All the Entune systems are the same right across the product line of Toyota right? We have the JBL in our Sienna, and it hasn't impressed me yet. It gets the job done, but could do it better. Bluetooth doesn't always negotiate between two phones easily. Nav is a little slow, and annoying with the limitations based on speed. My wife likes to use the POI system for gas stations while travelling, and it always drives me nuts. Sound in the van however is pretty good, considering the target audience. Not a bad choice, but I wouldn't upgrade just for it.

My two gripes are the voice recognition as other said and the navigation, got the truck 2 weeks ago and the navi is out of date doesnt show 99 in N. Houston. Wish I could run google maps on it. Otherwise no issues BT connects quick to my Note 4.

Glad to see my post generated some discussion on the Entune system. Seems after reading all the responses so far the consensus is fairly neutral with some folks loving it, other like myself hating it and a group saying its okay nothing special which seems to make up the majority. I'm happy to hear that many iPhone 6 users are not having the problems with the system that I'm having. I'll have to admit I'm not up to date with the latest iPhone with still using my old tried and true 4s with the most recent OS. Yet, its my opinion that this new Enturne system should be backward compatible to at least the old iPhone 4. Just because my iPhone is what some may now consider an antique it shouldn't be a nightmare to pair with the Bluetooth. I don't have a bit of problem pairing it up with the Bluetooth system in the wife Honda CRV. Nor should anyone who has the Entune system in their truck and using an iPhone or any Bluetooth compatible phone have to put up with any hassles of pairing up your phone with the head unit or not being able to access all the Entune features. Toyota needs to get that fixed and get it fixed now!

I'm also happy to learn the consensus, minus a few happy souls, is the Navigation system and voice recognition is that they both suck! I didn't get into the voice recognition on my original post because it negative enough and I'm glad to learn I'm by far not the only one who thinks its hopeless. As for the Nav system I believe it to can be fixed but in its present state let me say it politely its less then ideal.

It seems to me for the money we all spent on this new Entune system that Toyota on the whole blew it but it can be fixed if they would spend a little time and money on a firmware fixes to solve the short comings. If they can't then I'd like to see them rebate the customers for putting out system where you pay extra and get less performance then the stock head unit.

I could take it or leave it. It's nice and I like the factory look of everything. I think it's also worth the slightly larger screen (I think that is not something I made up lol). I don't hate the nav once you are routed but the menu options greying out if I'm rolling 2mph gets old

I just listen to the radio or my Mp3s..... works fine.

Doesn't drop calls and reads incoming text messages if I want them.

Nav seems fine once I'm happy with the route.

What more do you need it to do?

You know what I'd like? Just a direct interface to my phone screen. I can access my apps, run Waze, play music from Pandora Spotify etc. I don't need the built in rubbish

I have gotten frustrated, swear words entered my head, and I gave up EVERY time I have tried to use voice recognition. As a joke, my BIL was in the car with me and we tried to make it navigate to the Nashville airport. His six year old butted in after about 15 tries and us laughing and said "That thing is broken".

Finally we manually entered the info and took the route. It took us in circles at one point and finally we shut it off and followed Google's simple and clear instructions on my phone. We literally just used it as a joke and it totally failed AGAIN. Another time the route it chose when I went from Hunstville to Charlotte was 2+ hours longer than the Google maps route. I have NEVER gotten it to do something I want via voice except call someone.

Voice recognition and entry (even calibrated) = FAIL
    Nav = FAIL
Technically it plays music = success.
Bluetooth and Hands free = reasonable success if you say things exactly as it is expecting.

I use the app to find destinations and then import them to the radio. Works perfect that way

Nav works fine for me, voice recognition needs some work, even after tuning it to my voice but it does work. I think most people here aren't bothering to calibrate it per the manual. Apps on the unit are fine but I usually just use the broad search feature for things on the maps. Traffic is nice when I am on roads that it reports on but that is to be expected, why would it report on a country road in the middle of BFE? Overall, great unit, love the touch buttons instead of physical buttons, I'm a an IT engineer so that's probably why it appeals to me. Could it be better? Sure, but it works as advertised, at least for me.

The only thing I wish it had was the ability to have alerts via satellite radio for artists or certain songs.

Otherwise I'm content with mine. Volume level is good and the sound quality is fine.
