I have a 2006 Tacoma (140K) with a severe vibration at 15-35 mph. TSB states it is the rear engine insulator (rear transmission mount). I was wondering if anyone else can confirm this may be the problem and does anyone have any info. on how to do the job?
    Thanks for any assistance

I've done several, between the mount and the steering wheel dampener the vibration was gone, As long as vehicle wasn't lifted. Haven't had to do the springs(per tsb)

Thanks for the information. Was there anything you did to confirm this was the problem before changing it? Is there anything you can add as to how to replace it or is it pretty straightforward? Thanks for your time.

Straight forward. Remove the bolts to cross member, jack up slightly then undo the other 4 bolts. Swap it out and install in reverse order fully tightening when all bolts are in.
Dampener just have to remove driver airbag.

Local dealer had the insulator - for a good deal- swapped it out- easy as you said, made no difference with vibration-

Well shoot. 15-35 mph, accelerating? braking? Cruising?

I replaced mine in a 2008 4x4 manual transmission and the new mount drops the rear of the transmission 1/8", everything else about the mount looks identical. I think this mount helps slightly by the drop and the change in angle it creates. You can also shift the member that it bolts to by prying all the slack down when retightening. You need to use this as a tool to help with your angles not as a solution by itself.

Thanks for help, especially TacoTruck. After closer inspection of u-joints found one "frozen". I had been looking for something loose. Replaced all three while it was off and problem solved. Thanks again.
