    Good evening TW! So my wife got tired of me telling her I knew exactly what was in that box so I got to open one of my presents early!

    My question is this. She got the heated seat option (we are currently stationed in Puerto Rico and probably going to San Diego after this haha) and I want to hard wire them instead of using the switches it came with.

    It came with a 12v cigarette lighter plug in, connected to a switch, and then to the heater. I am electrically retarded so if anyone can offer some insight on how to do this that would be great.

    Couple of questions;
    1.) Where do I get the power from? I read a couple other threads about hardwiring and found that I can get the power from the back of the cigarette lighter. I'm going to sound dumb, but how? Which wires from the switch go to which wires go to the cigarette lighter (or wherever is best)? If someone can make a wiring diagram that would badass. Nothing fancy, just a paint image or something.

    2.) How do I cut up this wiring that came with the covers? Do I need to if I buy new switches? I assume at the very least I need to keep the two pronged part that connects directly out of the heating element. Here's a picture of the stock wiring it came with.

    Here's a link to the new switch I want to install into the shifter cover area.

    Thanks in advance for the help. Don't feel bad talking to me like I'm 5 about wiring, that's probably my grasp of it. Hopefully this thread will help anyone else like me that bought some Wet Okoles with heaters on the last go around of group buys. Also let me know if you have any questions in general about the covers that I can answer.

    You'll want to use a relay and power it off the battery. I'm too lazy to explain it in depth. Google how to wire things up using a relay.

    Did you find a good write up on how to do this? I'm looking to do the same thing.

    No I haven't even worked on it. Its been 90+ so I haven't had much motivation. Sad to say, but I'm probably just gonna bring it to a local shop and have them do it.
