Count me in as interested too. Currently running trimmed stock fenders up front and it would be nice to have some that looked right.

Unfortunately aftermarket molded snorkels for OE fenders are not likely to work on an aftermarket flared fender...however...there is a second idea in process around cut out fender flares that could cover that...stay tuned for details on that one too. IE: a flare cut back to just 4" but flared to gain back the tire coverage you lose when you cut the OE flares and possibly gain a bit over an OE flare. Unfortunately when we cut our OE flares we lose half the width of them at the same time.

Are you saying cut out around the A pillar? I've always thought they should make them exactly the same as stock just start the flare below the body line

No, a " cut out " fender flare is a flare that is made to fit an enlarged wheel well opening. There are tons of cut out flares available for other trucks but no one has ever made one for the 2nd gen. As I have been researching this I have realized that there are a lot of complexities to shaping a full fender. The situation that you describe would end up very awkward looking because the giant plastic snorkel body goes all the way from the antenna to the edge of the OE flare. So, you would be looking at flaring an entire fender just from the top of the OE flare...at that point an entire fender is not the right product a new flare for the OE fender is the right product. People turn to the bushwacker flares because it is the only product out there but there are some issues with those :

    1. The additional tire coverage is very minimal.
    2. The shape of the outer edge where the flare meets the body is slightly different ( smaller ) from the OE flare so if you have had your OE flares on for 100k miles and that rubber edge has made a nice deep groove in your paint that can't be buffed out that scar line is going to be visible.
    3. The wheel opening is not any bigger.
    4. A lot of folks don't like the " pocket style " look.

I've been searching through all the off the shelf snorkels and I think that a 1st gen Tacoma snorkel would be the easiest to fit with glass fenders. When I get the courage I'll buy one and start plotting on how to get it on the McNeils that I have now.

There is no need to pay for a molded snorkel with glass fenders. The flare of the fender gives you clearance under the fender to run a pipe through it for a fraction of the cost and it looks so much cleaner than those molded plastic blobs.

Check out @sytfu510 's build, you can use 3" pipe and flare it to 3.5" at the head, buy a head for $20 on eBay some flexible intake tubing at the auto parts store, a couple of rubber of silicone couplers BAM snorkel :

This is by far the cleanest best way to install a snorkel with glass fenders.

This is an awesome project Jason. Hopefully these assholes with no imagination will stop trying put doubt into your thread.

I also have some cool swaybar solutions I've come across that might help you. I'll put a pm together this afternoon and send it your way

I'm very interested to see what could become of this. A few years back I came up with my own solution:

They have not fared well due to being tree magnets :(

I've been toying with this idea, my fender flares stay on pretty well except for my damn front drivers side one. I just hate to spend a ton of money on new flares.

If the fenders are made of ABS-type material, instead of fiberglass I'd be interested.
