Some people do a little ubolt to the stem of the rear view mirror, that would probably work perfectly for you

You shouldn't need any isolation cables. I have a '14 and got the MX, no extra cables. That's for 1 gen's. Check out the mounts. I think the suction type is back ordered. Most folks are going with the vertical mount. It's also discounted. When making your order make sure your on the Tacoma world group buy.

I just bought the EM plus for my 1st gen. Was there anything else I needed for installation that doesn't come with the em plus? (Minus the mount) extra cables ?

it was mentioned that the first gen 's need a isolation cable that has something to do with the ABS light. Maybe someone can chime in .

I was at maybe 30 miles when the lights came on. Didn't notice exactly when they came on, I'd made a stop for gas, and a stop for some shopping, and then headed to the TxOverland meetup in S. Austin when I noticed it. Since I was slightly intoxicated when we left my wife drove it next, I'm sure she'd have said something if they'd been on but they were off when I remembered to look.

I'll go out and mess with it later when it cools off.

Found the answer on the link to 01-04 Tacomas on their page. Apparently an extra cable is needed at purchase. Here's the link...http://ultra-gauge.com/customer_support/knowledgebase.php?article=18
