I was planning on going to this type of combo eventually if Toyota can figure out the Root Cause Issue for premature wear /howling noise on the Rear Diffs. Already had one replaced under warranty but second is now acting up...so adding wheels/tires is not going to help my case of getting this stuff covered under warranty. I like the photos users have posted with this combo! Looks sharp

I'm with you! I already have the wheels and tires, and not being able to put them on is killing me :annoyed:

Figured if I had them then that would give some veracity to my statement rather than having to trust another person stating "Trust me. It'll work fine."

Hahaha that is exactly what I was thinking! "Well I have heard a handful of people say that is works.....so it has got to....right?" The pics definitely will allow me to buy a tire without any worries that I will be in for a sad time later!

Put new shoes on yesterday. 275/70/17. Even with a 3" lift, still had to remove front mud flaps to stop the rubbing.

It looks good Mark. Did you get the transmission TSB and how is it driving/performing?

Hey Smitty. Thanks. Yes, I had the TSB done about 2 weeks ago. The long delay from reverse to drive is gone. I was not having the cruise control or 2nd to 3rd shift issues. The truck shifted much better as soon as the TSB was done but I think it was because they reset computer so it was back in learning mode.

What size KO2's? Is your truck stock height or what lift are you running? I just bought the same rims and some said I could run 275/70R17 with stock height and have no problem....now some are saying I'll have a problem....? :/

Yes, these are the BFG KO2s 275/70/17
Lift: Bilstein 5100s all around, OME 887 springs, Wheelers 2" AAL. Started out on the 2nd notch on the front shocks which gave a 4" lift. It rubbed and I had noise from the CV joints. Lowered front to first notch to fix CVs and removed mud flaps. This lowered the front to 3". Still has minor rubbing. Why did I put on the wheels before the lift?....because I read posts stating they would not rub. I had the wheels/tires installed at COSTCO. When they drove the truck out of the shop, the tech came in to let me know the rub was pretty bad and to take it straight home (he knew I was lifting it in the morning). He wasn't kidding. It was rubbing with the wheels turned only half way. By the time I got home (7 miles), there was a hole rubbed in one of the mud flaps. So I have no idea how others can claim they had no rubbing without a lift. Believe what you want...TW is full of contradictory information. This was my experience. Here are pics of the truck with the wheels, before the lift and the rubbing:

Before lift, just got home from having wheels installed:
    Tacoma TRD wheels 1.jpg

    Rubbing:
    Tacoma TRD wheels 2.jpg

    Tacoma TRD wheels 3.jpg

After the lift (4"). I still have very minor rubbing under specific conditions:

    Tacoma lift 1.jpg

This is after lowering to 3". I still have very minor rubbing under specific conditions.

I have heard some people say that they get slight rubbing with 265/70/17 on the stock mud flaps, so I feel like there is no way 275 will work. I have these wheels, and 265 KO2s, but haven't had them installed yet. I bought RokBlokz mud flaps to help reduce the risk of rubbing.

Off road shop wanted $1200 for parts and labor. I shopped around, found the parts cheaper and installed myself for about $500-$600.
