He guys, I'm gonna add this usb charger to my truck sometime soon.

    https://www.bluesea.com/products/1045/Fast_Charge_-_Dual_USB_Charger_Socket_Mount

I'd like to wire it up always hot because it'll be easier for me that way but the part says it has a parasitic draw of 1mA. I know that's not a lot but could this thing kill my battery after a few days of the truck not being started?

I say always on is easier because I have an Aux fuse block installed that is always hot. So I can just run the wires to it without having to splice the oem harness or use an add a circuit. That's plan B, use an add a circuit to an "Ign ON" source.

    Wutcha think?

None yet, starting over!! OME lift w/ Dakars & 885's Remote Start w/ window control
It's a pretty simple install... as for the draw... your clock & radio probably draw more current than that with the key off

My truck can sit for a month or more when I'm working overseas, so yeah, it could be an issue

Right on! Thanks for the replies! I don't usually go more than a few days without starting up. I should be good to go always hot.

Last question regarding draw, what if I leave a device to charge overnight? The charger would put out a max of about 5A until the device was charged, maybe a few hours. If the charger ran at 5A for say 3 hours that's 15 amp hours, right? How many amp hours is the starting battery good for?

I don't know about all that but I left 2 phones in my car for over 24 hours, and boom started right up

Lol, just making sure! Thanks, it should take more than a cell phone or flashlight charging for a few hours to kill the battery to the point of no start.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I have two installed in the truck.

One in my center console which I use to charge cell phones and GoPro batteries
    [IMG]

And the other in the rear cup holder which I run a fridge off of. Plus drinks still fit in the holder.
