How to remove waterspots?

So I have some hard mineral spots that I'm trying to remove, I've tried the vinegar trick and it didn't work, I have some rain-x but it doesn't do the trick either since it's a clean

Also, this is glass
UPDATE: I've tried the clay bar treatment and rain-x's x-treme clean and neither got the spots all the way out.

 

Clay bar or cleaner wax.

 

clay bar and a good polish is your friend! Not much else will work

 

We have harsher spots on our windows at home, we had them done professionally and they used an electric buffer, is that something I'll need to look into or can I use a stronger chemical instead and call it good?

"CRL Sparkle" on Amazon. Takes the spots right off. I have it and it works great.

Another one on Amazon I have no experience with... 3D Eraser.

Another way is steel wool, super fine 0000 grade, just don't be super aggressive.

 

personally id never use steel wool on a window; over time it'll dull and the microscratches you leave behind will accumulate dirt deposits that make the window look like an acrylic phone booth door

 

Clay is fine on Windows. Cleans them up nicely. I always use a new piece and keep it as my dedicated glass clay. I wouldn't use a piece that had been used on paint. Griot's markets a clay specifically for glass.

FYI Clay won't get all types of water spots off.

Dry down the vehicle after washing. A beach towel does fine or if you have enough microfiber cloths. That's the easiest way to keep the waterspots away in my experience. But these days I'm lazy and don't see them as much on my super white truck.

Meguiars Quick Detailing spray. I use it between waxes.

 

if you have tried:

• washing
• good quality glass cleaner for cars (stoner glass cleaner)
• & clay bar

Then I would first try:

• Stone water spot remover or Mothers Water Spot Remover

If neither of these work then you will need to polish the glass with a glass polishing pad, da or rotary polisher and a product like car pro glass polish.

Good read - I have type 1 and 2. Definitely hard mineral deposits. Just to make sure again, clay bars are ok to use on windows?

 

I've also heard of Bon-Ami, what my local glass company suggested to me when I brought my truck in. Also found out my windshield is sandblasted to hell

 

Clay is ok on glass- but I wouldn't use a super aggressive clay. If you're using Megs or Mothers no worries. And I recommend using a new piece- not one previously used anywhere else. Save it for glass only.

I doubt clay will do much for you. i think you'll have to resort to a polish or chemical removal.
