I've had my Tacoma Limited for 7 1/2 months and I am at the 5000 mile scheduled maintenance . I have to drive nearly 3 hours to get to a reputable Toyota dealership to have this maintenance done. There is a dealership two hours away and a second one 2 1/2 hours away , but they are small dealerships and both have extremely poor reviews when it comes to maintenance and service . I did contact these two dealerships and asked a number of questions as to what they will do with my truck to repair the issues I am having . I was not impressed with the way they handled my questions . In addition to the scheduled maintenance , they are going to repair the blind spot monitoring and QI charger , both of which have been out for several months . They are also going to do a software update regarding the shifting issues with my truck . The issues I'm having are the same as many have reported having on this forum. They are also going to check my stereo system and try to determine why it cuts out often, then appears to reset and come back on. I also have a squealing/grinding noise coming from beneath the truck traveling at highway speeds . I checked the U- joints, greased them, but they were already full of grease, so it is not them. I have seen on this forum where a number of you continually tell people to stop complaining about the problems they're having with the truck . I think that is absolutely ridiculous . My truck was $41,000 out the door and I've had nothing but issues with it , more than any other vehicle I've ever owned . There are many things I enjoy about this truck, but my sense of security with the quality and potential issues or breakdowns is lacking. Hopefully, the dealership will have some answers and get these items taken care of .
