    Hey Guys,

I am looking to buy a New 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 in Quicksand.

Most MSRP's for this model are around 35,999. What would be a good price OTD?

    Thanks!

Might try truecar, uses your zip to tell what a fair price is for what you want. I used it and negotiated hard for a good price. Bring a printout with you when ready to buy, my dealer tried to use truecar printout only showing the highest numbers, not the good and great prices. When I pointed that out he didn't know what to say. A little later I got what I wanted. :D

If you can pay MSRP out the door, it is usually a good goal. Of course that assumes you're paying 8%-10% sales tax and such...

Read the third gen forums first - make sure you know what you might be getting into. The issues they're having and a test drive convinced me to buy a used 2015.

Do you need to know, or care?
Then read the 2ng Gen forum, and make an educated decision.

Good luck on the purchase, Toyota dealers tend to not move far off listed prices.

Should I wait for the 2017?

You could though I doubt there will be much if any difference between those built in the last 2 to 3 months and the 2017s. The 2017s have already begun production is my understanding....so if you go to dealer and have them take one from allocation (order one) today you're likely to get a 2017 anyway.

When I bought my 2014 Tundra CM I paid MSRP. The don't do the mark-up and huge discount like domestic dealers.

Depending where you're at MSRP is probably the best you'll get, espcially if you're in the Southern California area. Tried to do everything I could do get the price knocked down, including having a quote from an out of state dealer and they wouldn't budge until I was about to drive away and they took off $500. Love my 3rd gen though, it's got it's problems but so does any other truck you'll buy.

I purchased a new 2016 Barcelona Red quad-cab, short-bed, TRD Off-Road 4x4 a few months ago. I didn't see anywhere on the forums concerning stating purchase prices, but if I missed a post stating that we can't post purchase prices, please delete this.

Anyway, MSRP sticker price for my truck with tow package and tri-fold tonneau cover is listed at 38k. I purchased for 33k flat + tax, tag, etc. Charlotte, N.C. Hope it helps, but I know prices vary on region and options.

Might also choose to wait a few months to see how the new 2017s are. There will be a new Pro model to compete with the Sport and Off-Road. Hopefully they add some new things to the Sport for 2017 to keep it fresh.
