Fishing was ok, but still a great time. Thanks for the link, who knew there was a MT thread!

    A little a this, a little a that...
Stayed at the 4x4 campsite. It is first come first served and it can be crowded on a weekend. Pretty good chance of getting a site on a weekday tho. If there are no sites you can roll on down the trail and there are dispersed camping opportunities further out.

The first Monday of August is known as British Columbia Day (BC Day, Statutory Holiday) To celebrate it and make good use out of the long weekend we got a large group of friends together camping.

    Before the cavalry arrived.

We took the opportunity while waiting for others to show up to get on on the water fishing with my boat. We didn't catch anything worth keeping but it was still awesome to enjoy the scenery that the lake offers.

After the rest of the cavalry showed up.

    Yes.
Been unemployed since mid-April and thought I'd post some of my ramblings. Most places were too out of the mainstream to post, but here are some highlights.
    DSC_0046.jpg

Taos Canyon of the Rio Grande. Our campsite was south of here, about 20 ft above the river.

    DSC_0058.jpg
My traveling companion in the slot canyon of Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks.

    CSC_0302.jpg

Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks. About 1/2 way between Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

    CSC_0306.jpg

Chaco Culture National Historical Park. We stayed in the campground, which was cool as far as National Park campgrounds go, but our spot wasn't photoworthy. The wind was crazy while we were there; our trailer was rocking even when we weren't.

    CSC_0309.jpg

Had to hit the Great Sand Dunes on the way home. From my explorations, I have to say that the west side has larger grains while the eastern side has smaller grains. Each has it's own variations in color and dune shape, but the biggest difference is in walking. You just have to experience it all to find out what I mean.

    DSC_0159.jpg

Took the GF to Moab next. She'd never been and loved the scenery. Didn't love the crowds so much.

    CSC_0311.jpg

    Arches was beautiful!

    CSC_0317.jpg

Prickly Pears were coming into bloom.

    IMG_20160429_174156119.jpg

Spring trips just wouldn't be the same without showers (and Rainbows!).

    CSC_0323.jpg

Badlands National Park, SD. Another place I need to spend at least a week to explore.

Really cool, but smaller than I thought it would be. Crowds were crazy (especially for South Dakota!).

    IMG_20160627_192309633.jpg

It rained both nights we were in SD. Thankfully, I had the old canopy. Unfortunately the bikes didn't get any use. If you get to the southern Black Hills I recommend the Candlelight Tour at Wind Cave. Arrive early to find parking.

    IMG_20160629_125552077.jpg

The Mammoth Site (Hot Springs, SD) is actually pretty cool. Hope they keep digging to see what else is buried there.

    DSC01585.jpg

Went to a friend's wedding in Wyoming. My kind of shin-dig - the nearest hotel was 24 miles and most folks pitched a tent or had mobile accommodations.

Still nothing permanent on the job scene, so I hope to keep traveling as my budget allows. Stay tuned.

I pull an Aliner a-frame pop-up. It's winter rated and sits high enough to take it on rough roads. It sets up in 30 seconds and fits in the garage. I love it!image.jpgimage.jpg

It is? I ask because I have a 2016 Aliner Expedition and didn't know that.

Well, depends on what you mean by "sets up". Technically speaking, the walls set up in about 30 seconds (and that doesn't include the dormers on mine). Everything else takes a bit more time, though, admittedly, not much more.

I was told by the sales people that is is winter rated. To be honest I'm not much of a winter camping person but it does extend my fall camping nicely. I have been in it well below freezing and it was great. I have seen a couple camping at the local ski resort when it's really cold. Mine doesn't have the dormers so set up is a breeze. I love the look of the dormers but I wanted a simple, warm place to sleep. That expedition is nice! Good choice!

Previously, I had the Scout model. the most basic. But, a few years later, I decided to upgrade and, yeah, it works for me. BTW, it's only me, although, depending on how you camp, I'm sure it would be fine for two and, in an emergency, would sleep four.

Interestingly, I have only camped in mine twice for a total of 7 days and, again, the weatherstrip between the sidewalls and the roof panels have come loose. I had the same thing happen on my Aliner Scout, wich btw, I never bothered to replace.
I will replace these at the end of camping season which, I expect to be at the end of fall, as you've noted, as well.

I did post elsewhere (probably in the Camping thread) but, not a problem.

When I get time, I'm going to go back and move the struts to the outside of the cross supports.
Should note, also, I used the 90lb struts which held up nicely, although, after adding a comforter and two pillows, caused the struts to collapse a bit. Going to make some adjustments and, if it doesn't correct the problem, will replace with 120lb.
