Ok so I'm in need of ball joints. Who has successfully replaced their lower ball joints ,and would you say that it's worth it or should I just shell out for me LCA's?

    I'm interested too.

Is the general consensus OEM, or is there a better option? I'm curious, as I'm rebuilding my front suspension due to seized alignment cams/ LCA bushings. While it's apart, should I replace the ball joints? How many miles are they generally good for - I know there are many variables to affect this, but 50K...200Kmiles?

[ that you know what I meant
Well my truck has 113,000 and hasn't been off road once in the 70k I've had it, trucks never been abused or missed a maintenance interval since I've owned it and my ball joints boots are broken on both sides....

That's what I've read, but I have seen where people have completed it with the biggest issue being the removal of originals.
And did u mean ball joints or bushings?

No such luck for me, when my adjusters seized I swear to Christ it was like 2 parts became 1 & it took about a day to get those nasty fuckers drilled/pried/heated up/sawzalled/ with just a dash of cut off wheel to exorcise those bastards out....

Yeah luckily I talked with the local dealership and showed them my mechanics badge from Texas and luckily there going to give me the tech's discount which knocks each LCA to like $220 but still hurts to spend $500 to replace 2 $50 parts

No more salt in Denver? What do they use now? From what I looked up last year, it looks like they usually spray calcium chloride on the road. Looks like this:

I did a set of lca bushings. It wasn't what I'd call fun, but with good tools it's not too bad. Don't cheap out on the sawzall blade quality. The worst of it was a couple months later I had to do it again because the crappy Moog rear bushings came loose. There's a bunch of us that had the same problem. But the op asked about ball joints. After our moog lca bushing issues, I'd stick with oem ball joints.

Bringing this one back to life... Yeah we got sidetracked on bushings, but moog makes damn good ball joints and tie rod parts

The plan as of now is buy two LCA's from a junk yard, replace the ball joints with moog, and put in polyurethane bushings.
