Just waiting on probate to end so I can purchase a one-owner '02 Tacoma TRD, extended cab, 4WD, 3400 V6, 5 speed with 115K miles.
It needs new Bilsteins (RR is leaking). Has almost new BFG's. Also due is the timing belt replacement, full tune-up, and some re-balancing of tires.
It has the steering wheel/shaft popping issue which, thanks to the excellent discussion on this site, I am going to fix once I become the new owner.
One more issue: it has a CEL for the evap. emission system. The fuel cap was replaced with a new oem unit from the dealer and the light stayed out for a couple of weeks, now it is back on again, so there must be a bad sensor somewhere.

Welcome to TW. Do you know what the specific code is? It could very well be an 02 sensor or the cat converter.

DustStorm-----Don't recall the code number. I took it to AutoZone and their code reader person told me it was the evaporative emission system. This was a couple of weeks after I replaced the fuel cap-----it had the same code before I replaced the fuel cap and after the new cap, the light went away for a couple of weeks. Now it is back with the same code number (which I can't recall at this moment---a senior moment, I guess).

No worries. Try a higher octane gas and see if it goes away. I keep getting a P0420 code which is the cat, and if I run 89 octane, the CEL turns off.
