No, the vibration is still there and feels like it has gotten worse. I feel the vibration at 10 to 30mph now when used to be 15-25mph. And the vibration isn't a subtle vibration either, anyone driving and any passenger can feel it, in the floor board, in the seat, and in the pedals.

I've been told a steering dampener could help. Supposedly this was a fix toyota tried for the 2nd gens that had issues with vibes. It doesnt fix the root cause but it can treat the symptoms. Some speculate it could be driveline angle and others have claimed perhaps exhaust resonance. Nobody seems to know for sure.

My truck is lifted and the exhaust is dumped over the axle. No vibes for me

I was told by Mike Sweers himself that the 2017 will have the exhaust routed into the area behind the front seats. He said it will reduce all kind of random noise from the front seats. OP, that is a special lube they use to dampen the pinion thrust angle seal.

Obviously the CB's on these trucks are not even close to improved and still the achilles heel of the otherwise solid made 2 piece DS system.

Its too far back and its leaking from the rear side.

Ive seen different leaks where the dealer drained and never cleaned off the area and got sprayed. This doesnt look like ot.

    Update

Took the truck to the dealer to check on the bearing that was leaking and they said they have to order a whole new driveshaft for it. So apparently the bearing is part of the drive shaft unit

My God already. Every day it seems there is one or two new threads on a new problem with the third gen.

Sometimes I have to double check and see if I accidentally signed up for the Chebby Colorado forums and logged in.

Wait.... They said they need to order a whole new driveshaft as the bearing is part of the drive shaft?! That's the carrier bearing and it simply slips around the driveshaft and bolts onto the carrier bearing bracket that spans the frame......

While it seems far fetched, maybe whatever's going on there actually damaged the driveshaft. A dealer will replace the whole unit versus tear down the driveshaft and replace the damaged part.

Is the carrier bearing coated in oil for shipment to the factory? Residual oil heating, thinning and gathering at the bottom?

What's the latest on this with your truck? I just had mine replaced today, as it was leaking just like yours. I noticed driving home from getting it replaced that above 60 there's a very low pitch drone noise that's not very loud. When I got home I felt the drive shaft and from the bearing forward on the shaft to about have way to transfer case it was too hot to keep your hand on longer than about half a second.

My question is whether it's normal to get hot or not? I called dealer and took it back in for them to look at and they said, "It's not too hot unless it's orange." They also drove truck and could not hear drone noise.

It just doesn't seem right to me for that bearing and u joint to get that hot. What do y'all think? Do y'alls get hot?
