    Greetings -

I have a 2015 Tacoma with Factory Navigation. I found a place online that sells the update in the form of a Micro-SD card. But it cautions that the update must be performed at a Toyota dealer. The same site sells Toyota Nav updates for earlier generation units that used the DVD, and it explains how easy it is for end users to take the old DVD out, and put the new one in to update the maps.

I figure if the site encourages people with the older DVD-based Nav systems to update their own, there must be something important that requires Toyota dealer intervention to do the Micro-SD card update.

Is the update as simple as turning the unit off, taking the old Micro-SD card out, popping the new one in, and turning it back on? Are the updates tied to particular version of the Entune system?

Has anyone done their own map updates on this generation system?

Im getting ready to replace mine also. I was just going to change it out with the new one. Why does the dealer have to put it in?
