I dont remember how bad last year was for yellow jackets but I dont think it was this bad. Today I put up 3 traps and put some fresh bait in a new trap...they filled the first trap up about 1/3 of the way since noon today. The other bag trap has about 2 dozen floating in the water, the third one I just put up and has about 6 or so in it...in less than 30 minutes. The one I refreshed is loaded with live ticked off yellow jackets...

SC is out of control with them. Ive never seen so many. They somehow got into my apartment at one point. I taped every edge of the window to seal it up. Got stung on a trail recently too, no fun. I have epi pens in the truck and in my purse at all times now.

Yikes...better have those things with you at all times in the summer! I also sprayed 1 full can of wasp spray on my pump house that was loaded with wasps....So Im doing some damage to the bee population around here. The only ones I dont mind are the honey bees. We need them but all the others I dont really care for.

Africanized bees (Killer bees) also attack you for no reason, they are very paranoid. I've been stung a few times when they came to me or chased me. Luckily, it wasn't like in the movies, and only a half dozen attacked me.

Now, I also have been stung by yellow jackets, and yes, they are as unpolite as killer bees, but usually just one at a time. I find their sting less painful than a bee sting... luckily since they can sting multiple times.

yellow jackets go into a frenzy when their nest gets bumped....I know this by experience. Also bald faced hornets have a strong sting to them...
