Nice day in Utah yesterday to let my suspension stretch out a bit.

Edit: pic from the other side showng the flex on that rear axle using the extra travel on those stock remote reservoirs.

Looking for helpful advice from my Pro and Baja brothers. After about a year and half of owning my 15 pro I have major sag in the ass. I would say its a good two inch difference from the front. I know its from adding additional weight to the back. I have added a high clearance bumper, camper shell with a sleeping/drawer platform, plus all of my recovery gear and basic tools and other gear. I need advice on what is the best method on correcting this. Overall I am wanting to be 1-1.5" higher in the rear for when the pro suspension gives up the ghost and I upgrade. Growing room so to speak. At first I thought about going with an aal, but I don't think that will get me were I want to be(Im guessing that an aal will get my truck back to the original height). Then I looked at just doing a complete switch of my leafs and get a whole new pack. Mostly eyeing the OME and allpro expedition set. My concern with that is that all sites are saying that longer shocks are needed. both sets should get the height I am looking for in the rear with all pro giving a little more height. Being that our trucks are already higher in the rear than stock Tacoma's, will I need longer shocks to pull this off? I am not trying to do a full out upgrade of my rear suspension. How do I find this out? the other option I have is actually the one that 4wheelparts recommended for me. that is to go with airbags. I'm not too keen on that but haven't ruled that out yet. This is my daily driver, and she does see off-roading several times a year. I do not do any towing, and really don't plan on doing any in the near future. Has any one been through this yet? Any logical, helpful advice will be highly appreciated.
    thanks guys!

Firstly, your rear suspension wasn't higher than another Tacoma, just had better shocks. I have a Wheeler's 3 leaf in mine, and it gave me about 1.75" of lift over stock. I also kept a ton of weight in the bed; bed rack, rack bolted to that, bed slide out made from MDF, 33" spare, recovery gear, tools, hi lift/axe/shovel, fuel cans, and when on a trip all my gear, cooler, food, guns, etc. The AAL has done very well. I left my overload out so it would flex more off-road. If you left it in, you'd get that extra half inch of height. I can't speak to airbags or full leaves because I haven't used them.

Thanks Dave, for the input. That's a nice build you got going on. Did you go with aluminum or steel form Pelfreybilt for your bumper?

It's aluminum because I didn't want to weigh the front down.

I too have a progressive AAL 3leaf pack on my rear (ICON). I cannot say I have had any of the weight on mine like you have from your gear and such however, I trust it with what ever weight I would throw at it based on the research I did prior to putting it on. It has been an awesome ride on my truck so far. I hope this helps...

I've got air bags with daystar cradles. I love the adjustability. I can level it unloaded, loaded, and with the trailer

I am contemplating the switch to 285/75/16 for my truck. Thinking about getting the Toytech spacers up front, and the Icon AAL for the rear. Question is about the overload leaf. Pretty sure I have one, but I'm not a pro with this suspension stuff so I thought I'd ask the pros here. Is the overload the spring on the bottom in this pic? If so, what is the consensus here from people that have done this exact mod. Leave the overload and add the AAL, or add the AAL and remove the overload? Really looking forward to this upgrade, hoping the tires don't rub. Thanks for the info.

I did the Wheeler's Progressive 3 leaf AAL and took the overload out. It rides great, flexes out awesome, and holds plenty of weight. Also, yes that is the overload on the bottom of the pack.

Any reason you went Wheeler's over Icon?

Like Dave said, yes, that's your overload. I went with the ICON Progressive 3 leaf AAL. Honestly for no real reason at all. My ride has been awesome, no sqeeks, and absolutely zero problems. I have yet to add the Toytec spacers up front and because of that, I removed the overload leaf when I added the AAL. I did that to not have too high of a rake in the rear. Once I install the Toytec spacers I will then reinstall the overload leaf back into the rear spring. Hope this helps.....

I was pricing both from Wheeler's because I prefer to support vendors.

I had that set up for a while. It was great. Also used Icon progressive AAL with overload removed. Icon progressive AAL is engineered to have your factory overload removed. Your truck will sit nice and level like this. Believe it or not I felt that the rear was smother with the AAL and the larger tires. Front toytec spacer made no difference in ride quality.

Thanks for the replies guys. Now I just need to convince the wife that my current tires are worn out and I need to replace. Anyone want to buy a set of BFG AT 265/70/16 with 50% life left??
