I have a 2007 double cab short bed V6 6 Speed. And I am looking to replace the exhaust as the current exhaust is rusted out. my original plan was to go with the urd y-pipe and Mark 3 exhaust system all together I am looking at around $1,000 shipped. I am looking to decrease that cost by only purchasing the y pipe and creating my own exhaust back from the y pipe. Does anyone have experience with building this setup with the exhaust dumping before the rear axle. My concern is that I may get too much noise in the cab of the truck. And I do not to want to create a large amount of drone while on the highway

URD 4x4 y-pipe. Add a good muffler in to keep rasp and resonance down. Something between 18" to 24" in length. The longer the better. Straight through 2.5", unless planning to go F/I. Then 3".

If all you want is Y back and are going to bob it at the axle, just find a stock catback from someone who has upgraded, or from a junkyard, and replace the muffler.
