Not sure how much oil I put in

    Wouldn't it be convenient if oil companies would package the factory required quantity for each vehicles engine and you would just place an order for it, but thinking it over I would rather measure it myself.

    Low mark to high mark on the dipstick is 1.6 quarts.

    thas waaay too much brother. fill should be 'okay' be between those 2 dots. been doing it for 10 years on mine no probs :thumbsup:

    Suggest the following :
    1. put in 5 quarts.
    2. crank up and run a few minutes (to get oil in filter).
    3. turn off and remove dipstick, let sit 30 minutes.
    4. check dipstick, carefully add small quantity to get to the full mark on dipstick.

    Like others said, let out at least 1/2 qt and check again.

    I add a 5 qt jug and then half of another qt. Then on the next change use the remaining 1/2.

    I pour the used oil back into the 5 qt jug. My taco burns a 1/2 qt every 5k miles. After 4-5 changes I take the used oil to the auto shop.
