Yes, and some us us could give a Flying F about what certain people think of us because of the kind of vehicle they drive. They are the type of men who think their character and reputation is built upon their daily actions towards friends, family and community and that their reputation is not built upon the type and amount of material possessions they can show off. You know, the kind of people who have continued to mature after they left high school.....

I'm in and out of the hospital often (professionally) and you'd be surprised how many Docs own Taco's. I was talking to one when I just picked up mine and we geeked out on them and he pointed out his 2nd Gen in the lot.

I would also like to add that pretty much every Honda in the past 15 years has had Takata Airbags, so I doubt that the new one wouldn't. While it hasn't been recalled yet, It wouldn't be announced as a recall for at least another 1-2 years. Meanwhile, Toyota has never used the faulty Takata Airbags in the Tacoma.

at least so far, only Acura, Honda, BMW, and Volkswagen have any vehicles produced after 2011 that have the recall out on them

I got a 2006 Ridgeline when my grandfather passed away in 2007. I had a 2002 4X4 TRD Tacoma at the time, so I put the Tacoma on the family ranch and started driving the Ridgeline. The Ridgeline had a lot of blindspots, the steering made some strange noises, it's all time 4X4, low clearance, looks like hammered sh*t, and drove like a minivan. My buddies also laughed when I took it hunting. But, the tailgate was cool because it opens two different ways and it has storage under the bed. After a few months of driving the Honda, I put it on the ranch and took back my Taco. No comparison in my opinion. They probably have made some improvements to them in 10 years, but they didn't do much for the look of it.

Ironically I think the new Ridgeline makes the older one look tougher and better.

I just saw one on the road over the weekend... Not impressed at all. Looks like crap and a total road queen, not something I would ever consider being ready for off road. Hell, probably not even on a nice gravel road. Not my taste!
I find it hard to believe any Tacoma fan would even consider one. If you want something bigger or nicer, just get a Tundra.

Test drove an RL back to back with gen 3. Tacoma sits higher and interior is far better. Steering wheel is beefier, jbl more intuitive and it handles exactly how a truck should. RL handles well and feels like a car. The driving feel is far superior in the Tacoma despite this because the Tacoma feels like something special. It lets you know it's a truck and is unashamed for it. looks wise the Tacoma is def more masculine. It's like comparing a cross fitting bro who wears shmedium sized shirts at the county fair (Tacoma) as opposed to the androgynous jazzer size instructor at the local Y (RL)

Crossfit masculine? :rofl:They're both gay so...

OP sounds like a great match to the Honda. It does most everything better than the tacoma on road (quieter, better mpg, faster, handling, braking, even hauling), has more room in back which is key for a family or people. It comes up a little short towing which the OP isn't worried about, it will handle his needs. It will handling most the off roading many tacoma owners need (and for the OP) and looks ok (the tacoma is no prom queen by any means).

This sounds like a bunch of insecure bro's jabbing about their trucks like it gets them laid (it doesn't) and how it won't do what they need off road (which they never do enough to need the capabilities anyway. the Honda would suffice them in reality).

Good luck OP, check out that truck, the reviews are good and the 4wd system isn't shabby.
