    Is yours an auto or manual? If it's auto, you have the 8", if it's manual you have the 8.8".

    I'm going to be double checking my axle code chart to verify things after this thread.

    For once not getting the peasant row boat forward motion selector pays off. Yes, I have the Auto. Getting locked and regeared feels so much easier knowing I have the 8".

    Well, while all of you guys are complaining about gear ratios, I'm doing something productive and trying to figure out how to get that power sliding rear window in my 16. I'm still new to the truck world, so why is the gear ratio so important?

    I mean, you guys are all getting angry about the gear ratio. I love my truck, I want that damn power rear window. I cant figure out why that isn't in the damn 16, but I'm not gonna freak out about it. I'm just gonna either figure out how to make that happen, or when it comes time....trade the 16 in on a newer Tacoma.

    Well, with a new rear window and some added electrical components anything is possible!


    BTW............nothing has changed with gear ratios. Everything except the rear slider is carry over.

    Holy MOF! You guys ought to visit fjcruiserforums. It's like a ladies afternoon tea compared to this! Speaking in the native language of that distant place, I count myself among the fortunate few that got my 2014 FJ when I did and withstood any and all pressure to trade for a 2016 Tacoma even when my dealer was offering me cash on the trade for a 2016 4x4 with OR. Good evening gentleman and ladies. You shall see the rear of my FJ on the trails someday if you have good eyesight.
