Yeah, The iPads, and iPhones have a thermal limit of around 97*. Seems to be the biggest issue out here.

I figure it would be more of a direct sunlight issue. I've taken my iPhone into a fire and it gets MUCH hotter than 97* without issue. But leaving it in direct sunlight will make it go into shutdown mode for a bit. I use a sun shade over my iPad when it's on the controller. Cuts down on the glare. I also recommend getting a anti-reflective screen protector as that seems to help with seeing the iPad in direct sunlight.

Oooo...That's a good point. Ive just had folks out here complain about their stuff shutting off due to heat, and when I got mine, they told me it could be an issue if I ran IOS.

They actually told me it could be an issue regardless of OS, but Ive had mine record 115* internal temp, and no issue.

Need advice you savvy quad folk!

Just scored a first generation DJI phantom. The one I guess... For almost nothing. Friend is moving, and can't fly it where he's going to be living, so he let me have it for a couple hundred dollars with 4 batteries, a carrying case, prop guards (unless those come standard) GoPro mounts and accessories (I have a GoPro already). It was barely used, I think I flew it more times when he owned it than he did.

So I'm curious what gimbal mount you fine people recommend. I've been using it a lot, and have already maxed out what it is currently capable of. Where I live it consistently blows upwards of 10kts, so the drone is getting constantly battered by the wind, which makes getting a stable shot next to impossible...

Also, any good filters for the gopros?

    Thanks!

Edit: Here's a picture the camera took the other night.... Note how tilted it is, that was about 200ft with winds @ 10kts and just holding position.

Probably a Zenmuse, I can't recall which model off the top of my head.

I've been looking at the zenmuse h3-3D, looks pretty nice. Just need to find the whole kit, for the phantom 1.

Before you suggested the zenmuse I was looking at the cheap Chinese ones... Tons of mixed reviews. Hard to tell where to look... Lots of people saying they were DOA too... Think I'll shell out for something a little nicer. Good thing I'm good at soldering. Looks like the zenmuse is not a straight forward install.
