I was looking to paint the stock trd sport rims a glossy gunmetal color.

Has anyone painted their rims in general? Any pictures?

I painted a set of alloys on my jeep. It all depends on the rim, mine were clearcoat ed from the factory so I cleaned, scuffed with 400 grit sand paper, cleaned again, wiped down, cleaned again, degreased with duplicolor wax and grease remover, wiped down again, put 2 light coats of duplicolor wheel paint, 2 wet coats of duplicolor wheel paint, then same coats with duplicolor clear gloss. Prep is the most important part. Also try not to sand through the clearcoat, if you do and have to paint straight to aluminum you will have to apply a self etching primer before the paint.

    all tore up already
Did my friends is250 wheels yesterday in duplicolor wheel paint and it came out well. Did surface prep cleaner, adhesion promoter and paint. Did a little sanding first to get rid of some corrosion and curb rash20160808_124653.jpg20160808_124643.jpg
