Will be putting a shed in backyard sometime. I have casually researched and seen some very cheap and very expensive options.

So here I am asking simply for input from your personal experiences.

If you had a slab poured for the structure, what was the size and cost? *yes I know cost of concrete varies

Metal a good option? I read it's tedious but cheaper and sufficient if done right on a level surface.

    Thank you.

It depends on what you want. I have had both light weight and heavy metal sheds and wooden ones. The light weight ones are available with reinforcements for the roof, but I'm not sure I would trust them under heavy snow loads. I just built a light weight shed where it will not see any snow. It was not difficult to put up, but is probably not as rugged as a well-built wooden shed. I can't speak for concrete costs; as you say, prices probably vary widely from one area to another. FWIW, pouring your own slab is not extremely difficult.

I would say you'll get a better idea if you post in a regional forum closer to your area. Materials and construction techniques and building codes vary too much.

Fog light mod, JBA LT headers, drop-in k&n filter, energy bushings, tried fold topper, 2nd air filter removed, all new stereo system minus subs, plastisol the wheels.
I personally would do a nice wooden one as the cheap metal ones won't last as long not to mention dent as easy as a beer can. I will be eventually be building 1-2 in my back yard but I'm going to have to build them on top of a platform 3ft up on concrete pilers as my backyard is considered a flood zone.

find free pallets and screw them together. add 2x6's around doors and roof. cover in metal siding. should hold up quite nice.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
My dad did this exact thing years ago. He lives by a plant that puts out free pallets. At the time, I thought it was pretty ghetto. Now 20+ years later I think it's genious. Still standing.

I'll be buying a new Shed World shed in a few days because a gust of wind ripped my lightweight metal shed off its wood deck and flung it over my fence.
