    Right on..

I would expect MSRP, but nothing lower. I mean these things literally just came out and i'm sure they aren't going to be sitting on lots for long.

If you have one you can buy now, and have the cash, why not?

I knew the sunroof had been settled, but the JBL, too? What threw me off was the walk-around video of the one at the unveiling - that one has the JBL insignia. So I wasn't sure if my sales guy was blowing smoke up my ass or not.

Whats the deal with the JBL anyway? Most people with the systems complain about it or upgrade it. I'm sitting here with stock speakers that absolutely kick the ass out of my buddies Subaru with premium sound. In my experience, 'premium' audio from the factory is usually seriously lacking. I'll just upgrade this stock system when I find it lacking. So far so good.

I'm a musician with discerning audio taste and I seriously can't complain about this configuration.

    congrats on the potential deal!

i have to say however that your QS checks off more boxes than the Pro does from all the info provided.

bragging rights is a big motivator but i do like the QS color.

It's really just a price justification. For $42K, not getting JBL is just a strange move.

so just to clarify, the Pro does NOT come with JBL or Moonroof as standard or AT ALL?

Good luck on working a deal on the Pro if you can. Although, I must say that your QS is extremely nice as well in that config!

my opinion might be biased though as I have the same QS config :rasta:

No - a sunroof is not even an option. Not even for the Tundra or 4runner TRDPros.

Still unclear about the JBL option, though. Like I said, you can clearly see the TRD Pro at the unveiling has it.

AT ALL. If you look at both the Tundra and 4R TRD Pros, other than port installed stuff, there are no packages or options. WYSIWYG.

Hmmmmm not sure I can agree on this at all. In fact I haven't seen anyone here with JBL complain about their system. Most of us who bought JBL got JBL so we didn't have to pay some shop to tear up our brand new trucks, pull up the upholstery, run wires, pull door panels and shit. Every time I have had that done it NEVER fails that at some point down the road shit starts rattling in the door, or the carpet wasn't QUITE seated back the way it came from factory.

The JBL system is more than adequate for most who want to PAY for it. It's easy to test the system out on any dealer's lot to see if it is worth the investment up front or not. That is what helped make my decision to get it. There are audiophiles who post here and people who are sound production/engineers who have the JBL system and actually give it high marks. I haven't seen anyone here in the 3rd gen section say they bought the JBL system just so they could upgrade it later, in fact it's quite the contrary.

If that is someone's reasoning for paying for the upgraded system and they enjoy it than I totally support it, but when I see people throwing shade on a system they paid extra for and, like you stated, got to demo it before buying, I really don't get it.

I agree, any factory installed system whether stock or "premium" is pretty much crap nowadays. I did however have a 95 Mitsubishi Diamante that was loaded and had a pretty nice system for something that came out on 95. Nowadays though every speaker factory installed is paper crap. I purposely buy vehicles without upgraded audio since they are easy to take out and replaced with something better for much cheaper than the "premium" factory option. Ive never brought a vehicle to a shop to do any audio work, always done it by my self or with the help of a friend and we always make sure we do things right, unlike a shop like smitty said who may not tighten everything or tape up wire harnesses to keep them from rattling. For people that just want some slightly better than stock and do not have tech skills to do audio work i guess it is worth it to them though and thats obviously why company's offer it. Sort of the same idea as the pro, it can be built much better for much cheaper but theres people who rather get something like that without doing any work and are willing pay a premium for it. I personally hate factory installed upgraded systems simply because they are so hard to upgrade, good luck ever using a factory amp with an aftermarket head unit, usually impossible with most vehicles, same with factory subs, all usually require re-wiring to be used with aftermarket HUs, and lets face it, every factory HU is decades out of where they should be. My parrot asteroid smart is running old ass gingerbread android and is still better than any factory HU.

I'm somewhat glad i'm not in your position right now. I would have no will power.

Like you, my current truck is paid for and if you dangled a Pro in front of me for MSRP, I would have bought it.. even sans Moon roof! :)
