well, i took the tacoma on its longest road trip today. Never really drove it to far because i wasnt for sure how the gas mileage would do. But decided to give it a shot. Drove it down here to pigeon forge this weekend, just to try it out.

I also want to add that it has the 3 inch bilstein lifts on it and 265/75/16 bfg 10plys on it (which was making me nervous about taking it on any really long trips, but i ised a little less than 3/4 tank to go from southern wv to pigeon forge, so im stoked it done that good.

I have not filled it up yet to get the actual mileage and such because i have had to, but so far its impressed me pretty decently.

I know its nothing major, but its kinda neat for me because its never been that far, always took the wofes rogue, better mileage and more comfy, or well until before the lift (odd i know) but she asked to take the taco, so i said okiee dokiee, lol

When i fill it up either this evening or tomorrow ill post my mileage results.

Well its not to bad all things considered. Went 307 miles on 16 gallons. So it was about 19 miles a gallon. To say the least im fairly impressed.

I drive 190 miles each way to and from work (go Sunday night, back Friday evening) and I average 19.5 mpg each trip. All highway - 60 to 70 the whole way. If I keep it under 2000 rpm she seems to do well. If I get impatient and start pushing the speed limits I'll drop to about 18 mpg. Only once in the first couple of months of owning it did I get 21. Never got there again.

I was a bit shocked. I figured with my bigger wheels that it would take away from the mileage alot but it didnt seem to hit it to bad.

    2 wheel drive vs 4x4?

I got Mobil 1 in just about everything and I keep my filters new. No extra weight besides a topper. Just can't break back into 20 again. It is what it is.

It's a Prerunner with a hard bed cover. I use Mobil One full synthetic.

    That's depressing.

I'll cruise at around 85 and end up around 13.5mpg.

A lot of things effect fuel mileage. We went on a 4500+ mile road trip from GA to northern Arizona and up into Utah back in May. No lift, but I'm running 265/75/16's as well. My truck is a 2007 DC 4X4. The overall mileage for the trip was 20.1 mpg, but it varied between almost 23 to as low as 16 on different tanks.

On level interstates with cruise on 70 mph I'd get 19.5-20 mpg. On several tanks through mountains, much on 2 lane roads, where speeds were 55-65 I got 22-23 mpg. There were long downhill stretches where I could coast. We got the worst fuel mileage on the way back across Kansas where we hit strong headwinds and I got 16 and 17 on a couple of tanks.

Hey, I just had to come home early this week and ended up getting 20.1 mpg on my tank home. 2nd time I've broken the 20 mpg mark. Yes!
