I acquired a set of front springs from a same generation 4runner (I believe they are off a 2012 or 2013). They are considerably beefier than the stock ones in my Tacoma. It seems to me that if I replaced my factory 2005 Tacoma springs with the ones from the 4runner, that I could possibly gain some lift. Everything I have found on the internet only mentions using the Tacoma springs in a 4runner and not vice versa. I am looking for a practical way of lifting the old girl rather than buying a set of 5100's. I've used the 5100's in my 99 Tacoma and really like them but since my 2005 has 212,000 miles, I'm trying to keep my investment as low as possible. For the rear, I plan on using an AAL kit to lift it. If my idea is sound, my only expense would be the AAL.

If anyone has any experience with this, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

I wondered if that was the case. I don't have a reliable way to compare the height of them since 1 set is off the truck and 1 set is on the truck. Your reply makes sense though. Thanks for the help.
