    Regarding drilling the pillar: NO, you don't have to! Really good double sided tap or 3M dual lock. if anything you might need to bend the bracket a little for good contact. I have one that's been that way for over a year and seen it share of tree branches.
    And, everyone should ignore about half the comments about install and the VERY OLD link they keep referring to where the guy installed a helix snorkel on a Tacoma and bitched about it. Funny how they kept referring to it even though it isn't isn't even relevant to these? the template is perfectly fine, too. It's simple. Cut it out and line up with body and mark holes per instructions.
