I quoted you saying he would need UCAs before a bumper because of extended travel. That may have been the confusion

 

I've been really happy with my 4xinnovation sliders.

 

Well... lucky me got to spend my first day off in a long while pulling trees out with the truck. City gave us special access to a fire road that runs behind the house so we could get a tree out of a back yard, so at least that was fun. 4low did the trick all three times with little effort.

 

A while back somebody mentioned someplace that analyzed used oil, anybody remember where or who?

I think CBI are the only true bolt on. I had BAMF bolt ons on my 1st gen and they were great, but required drilling. All others will require welding.

There are tons of options, BAMF, CBI, Trail gear, all pro, relentless, 4x4 innovations, demello, brute force, etc..

They will all work well, and almost all of them can get you basically the same options.

There are only a couple types hearty enough to make it here in Washington (none of the really good looking ones). I'm not sure how this one does cause it's my neighbor's. Seems to hold up well though, been there a long time.

 

Haha, I know right. My stock 03 had no issues with anything. Once you lift it everything goes haywire, haha. My vibration comes on and off at different speeds. 0-5, 20-30, and 55-70 all vibrate from the drive shaft. The vibrations aren't too bad just annoying and more noticeable on really smooth roads like Legacy Hwy. I think the improperly balanced wheels and bad LCA bushings are noticeable at higher speeds. I just replaced my cv axel boot that was ripped. It is a lot of work compared to just swapping out a whole new cv axel. But it came to spending 20 for a new boot or 125 for a whole new cv axel. I would check your tie rods are still being held on with all 4 bolts one each side if you are hearing a clunk or yeah it could be the cv gone bad. I'm always under my truck checking for new leaks and that things look normal.

 

How did that work for the mechanism? I assume you are talking about the retention/roll up when you release it?
I was under the impression that whatever was doing the auto roll-up was decaying with usage and wear, not getting clogged up or in need of lubrication. My approach was going to be to swap the rear driver side for the driver belt (yeah, double cab world problems), but if it just needs some maintenance ....

 

So in other words, when you went looking for a Taco, you went looking for one that had been "rode hard and put up wet?"
